Interior Design Assistant

Seeking Job Opportunities located in California.  I will be living in San Diego but would be willing to work remotely if possible.

Specialties: Rendering and creating layouts and repeats for bedding, apparel, tabletop, wallcovering, home furnishings; creating colorways; experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign CS3, and NedGraphics

Work with the customer in making sure they get the best furniture they can to fit both their lifestyle and look of their home.  Assist the interior designer in making layouts and working with customers to re-decorate/update their homes.

Experience on creating bedding design concepts and then following the development through to create the product.  Currently working on the Tommy Bahamas and Nicole Miller brands, but have worked previously on other brands, which includes Laura Ashley, Nautica, and Country Living.  I have designed and developed anything from decorative pillows, sheets, quilts, comforters, duvets and shower curtains, as well as full bedding concept ensembles for the brands.  
Able to work with a team of people, including Bedding managers, as well as the licensor's of the brands being worked on.  Create full concepts (including pattern, layout and color work) and then present the concept to various co-workers.  Work in excel to create a development product and then communicate with vendors to create the product. 
Have been able to travel overseas to Asia, to help see a development through and learn more about communicating with the vendors and learning how the development works from start to finish.

Designer

Assistant Designer/collaborates with team members on the  Laura Ashley, Patti Labelle, and Steve Madden Home licensed brands.  Works/Assists on Product Design, creating initial concepts, selecting and editing prints and techniques. Responsible for seasonal trend boards and research, and presentations to buyers.  Communicates daily with vendors internationally on products being made at the textile mills.

Product Design Assistant

Worked on cleaning files and color work of patterns/designs.  Put together concept boards for presentations.  Kept the office organized so things were easy to find.  Worked in showroom to make displays visually appealing. 

Design Intern

Worked and organized fabrics in the showroom.  Helped to make sure fabrics were in order and if anything was missing.  Would pull fabrics to prepare for meetings.
