Assistant Camera/Cinematographer

My goal is to take the knowledge that I have gained from digital media and video production and apply it in a career as a video producer.

As a Cinematographer and assistant to the Director of Photography, I work to setup much of the lighting and grip gear. I also occasionally assist in rack focusing for the camera, as well as handling full camera operations, in the absence of the Director of Photography. Much of my job involves sticking to a strict schedule and setting up the correct lights and gear to produce the perfect image for each camera shot/angle.

This is a technology news website, covering all the latest in the computers, cameras, phones, tablets, etc. Currently, I contribute articles on the latest news and reviews for cameras and camcorders.

Staff Writer

As a videographer, I shoot video of many events around the area. Previously, I have filmed sporting events, such as football, soccer, hockey, basketball, and lacrosse for high schools and colleges. I have also filmed professional wedding videos. Most of the time, I am a one-man crew, setting up, shooting, and breaking down camera equipment on my own. This position requires knowledge in camera tech, some lighting, and knowing how to make the shots ascetically pleasing, while still covering all of the action. Recently, I've started editing projects as well, using my knowledge of nonlinear editors and Final Cut Pro to cut together highlights of the videos that my colleagues and I film on a weekly basis.

Videographer/Editor

During my time collaborating with Suture Films, I co-produced the short horror film, "5 Minutes..." Prior to the shoot, I gathered cast and crew for the production. I assisted in location scouting and development of the idea for the production. During the production, I worked as the Director of Photography, setting up camera equipment and each camera shot. I also operated the camera to capture the best possible footage for the production.

Producer/Director of Photography

Worked as a writer for a news website specializing in video games and related stories. Focused most on writing features that touched upon that latest trends in the gaming industry. Combining research, fact, and personal insight, I had several articles published during my time as an intern.

While working on the short film "Confessional", I worked with the Director of Photography on the set of the production. During that time, I assisted with camera positioning, gear setup, and lighting. I also worked as a set photographer, where I documented the production by taking professional photographs.

First Assistant Camera/Set Photographer

On the set of "Assertions", the second of a three part film project, I worked as the Second AD, assisting with set preparations and documentation necessary for the film shoot. I would also work with much of the cast and the crew to make sure that everything is running smoothly. During the shoot, I would stay coordinated with the first AD and immediately discuss any issues as they arise. I would also document the production by taking professional photographs.

Second Assistant Director/Set Photographer

During my time working on the pilot for "One Model Army", I worked as the primary Cinematographer and the assistant to the Director, often providing my insight for each scene, translated from the script/storyboard. My primary concern was setting up each camera shot and making sure that it lined up with the Director's vision, as well as created something that was aesthetically pleasing.

Assistant Director/Cinematographer

As my first post-college experience, this production allowed me to see how narrative film worked outside of an educational institute. On set, I worked as the Second AD. Much of my job included working with the actors on official documentation and shooting preparations. I also worked as the official Set Photographer, documenting the production by shooting behind-the-scenes stills.
