As an independent consultant the scope of topics currently addressed range from taxation, both company and personal, to Asian specific consulting in the areas of: Asian financial systems, multilingual computing, and translation.I have represented numerous clients with the IRS ranging from corporate field audits to personal issues ranging as high as $5,000,000 in proposed assessments.  I have covered issues ranging from investment basis calculations in entities such as: partnerships, LLCs, sub chapter S/C corporations, and trusts.  

Legal issues such as the Uniform Commercial Code and the California Corporations Code in the areas of corporate governance and Shareholder ethics is a specialty as well.  I have worked with numerous estate-planning attorneys to explain how their client’s business interests effect the foundations of their strategies, for example the family partnership structure.

Additionally, companies seeking representation in Asia have found my unique experience extremely profitable, My financial MBA thesis was written on independent study in Beijing China, Comparing and Contrasting Investment Methodologies in Asia.  I have worked in the IT industry with companies like Toshiba and National in Japan and Governmental agencies in numerous Mainland China cities.  For example, I have worked with the Jilin Economic Development Council on water infrastructure financing in Jilin Province.  I have been living and traveling all over Asia for over 10 years.

I am passionate about technology and am currently fluent in both Windows and Macintosh operating system.  This love is more than a hobby as I focus on the implementation of technology into traditional business practices, such as taxation.

Charged with establishing the capital structure and consolidating / delivering company financial s. Restructured the debt, brought tax preparation current, and raised $7.5M in working capital over a six month period.   

•Restructured the company’s financial s, consolidating 7 entities into 3 and providing financial transparency. Partnered with PricewaterhouseCoopers to deliver the company’s first GAAP compliant financial statements complete with CPA reviews, compilations, and audited financial statements.  
•Spearheaded the consolidation of 7 accounting systems into 1 enterprise-wide industry specific system “TMW”.  Implemented cash flow statement module, general ledger mapping, fixed asset module, and consolidated financial reporting across entities. Joined Nuwave at company inception and structured the FP&A organization, IT Department, and Operations to position the company for rapid nationwide expansion.  Successfully led the company through inception and sales growth to multiple purchase solicitation offers upwards of $45M in three years. Used process / standard costing to solidify product offerings controlling costs.

•Implemented QuickBooks Enterprise Accounting for Manufacturing: established general ledger, financial statements, monthly closing, and supporting journals. Constructed the bill of materials, as well as the raw materials, work in process, and finished goods reporting.

Hired to lead the implementation of the IT infrastructure and software to roll out Manulife’s new financial product offerings.  Provided oversight of project accounting and financial reporting to the Asian HQ in Japan and the worldwide HQ in Canada.  Partnered with outside software contractors to ensure system accounting compliance and accuracy.  

•Partnered with Project Mangers in seven Asian countries to ensure the successful implementation of the IT infrastructure and software. Successfully merged IT infrastructure in the initial year, three months ahead of schedule.

Joined Avanade, a Microsoft and Accenture joint venture, at the company’s headquarters in Seattle, WA.  Worked directly with the CEO and Controller to implement: the Cognos accounting system, the general ledger, supporting journals, financial statement generation, budgeting, forecasting, KPIs, and ad hoc financial analysis. Led the project expansion in Asia and relocated to the Hong Kong office to ensure the cooperation of the Accenture and Microsoft Hong Kong offices.  
•Led $1.3B annual worldwide budgeting process which included leading a special task team to develop an IT interface between Excel and FRANGO for global budgeting and consolidation.
