Pattern Cutter

I am looking for the next step in my career as a pattern cutter, with a role in which I can progress and use my skills to benefit the company.

Producing first patterns from sketches, ideas, and using existing vintage/source garments.
Producing toiles, overseeing fit sessions and subsequently amending patterns.
Transferring them to card/signing off ready for manufacture.
Preparing all materials and trims for manufacture.
Quality checking samples. 
Advising designer on best practice for finishings and garment construction and solving technical queries.
Attending meetings and events with designer to promote the brand.


Using Adobe Photoshop to create a concept and design aesthetic which appeals to new and old customers, in keeping with the brand identity.
Understanding current trends and historical references to produce a successful collection.
Using Adobe Illustrator to sketch designs and produce technical packs.
Presenting designs at meetings with company directors and discussing design and branding ideas.

Designer

Producing toiles and assisting in fittings.
Hand finishing, labelling, and steaming garments. 
Implementing and maintaining fabric organisation system.
Researching trends and ideas for future collections and presenting these to the Head Designer.
Assisting pattern cutter by amending and copying patterns
Organising and shipping buyers’ orders.
Admin duties including; booking travel, using Excel and ‘Zedonk’ for fabric orders and costing, checking paperwork for buyers orders, answering phones, general errands.
Gained an understanding of working with overseas manufacturers
