Apparel and Outerwear Buyer

I am currently the Soft Goods buyer at Sporthaus, a locally owned sports specialty store. I focus on purchasing soft goods that correspond with winter sports, tennis year round, and watersports. I also purchsse year round lifestyle apparel and sportswear. My job allows me to be involved with the activities I love, living in the Pacific Northwest lets me be close to them. If I'm not at work you'll find me outside.

•	Purchase all store apparel based on seasons and activities that correspond. Specializing in ski, snowboard, water sports, tennis, active and casual wear.
•	Determine open to buy based on previous sales, current inventory, gross margin, and forecasted sales.
•	Watch trending sales and base re-orders on the ability to create turns. 
•	Maximize discounts from brands to increase margins and gross profit.
•	Enter all purchase orders and invoices. 
•	Track all register balances and deposits.
•	Merchandise sales floor and manage sales floor associates.
•	Teach proper merchandising skills, flow, colorization etc.
•	Hiring, scheduling, and customer service training of employees.

•	Duties included but were not limited to: greeting patients, assisting Dr. Ostler with all orthodontic procedures, explaining orthodontic procedures to patients and parents, photos, x-rays, scheduling, answering phones, and online patient charting. 
•	Lead of internal marketing, patient contests, patient referral program, and organizing lunch and learns with other dental offices. 
•	Trained for three additional positions: Scheduling Coordinator, Records Technician, and Sterile.

Orthodontic Assistant

•	Hired and managed all associates within my departments, and functioned as the manager on duty for the entire store on selected mornings and evenings.
•	Director of the Star Council, an associate group who met to resolve issues in order to improve the store as a better place to work and shop.
•	Started with Macy’s as a holiday hire, became a vendor specialist for Tommy Hilfiger and Jones New York, was the holiday supervisor, and then became the general sales manager (GSM) of accessories, intimate apparel, dresses, and suits.
•	Watched stock flow and made sure new merchandise got to the sales floor in a timely fashion.
•	Worked with sales associates to meet department sales plan.
•	Made sure departments met visual standards as well correct sale signage.
•	Completed Macy’s Manager Training program in Seattle, Washington.
