Creative Design Director

My passion is design. Few things thrill me more than sitting back and seeing a clean, tightly designed page at the end of the night. I have a heavy interest in Adobe products, both in their ability to crossover between one another and the future that offers for the industry. At work, I primarily use InDesign, InCopy and Photoshop from CS1 and CS5 while at home I have CS2, CS4 and CS6 to design my own projects.

My overall goal is to continue my work in print media with an emphasis on learning different design trends and techniques incorporated both by fellow designers and other publications. Though there is no singular right way to prepare a quality page, there are many ideas and I believe a knowledge of as many as possible can only help to enhance my skills.

Specialties: InDesign, Photoshop, InCopy, Acrobat Pro, DTI, News Edit Pro, Quark XPress, Mac Mail, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Entourage, Mac OSX Tiger through Lion, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iWeb, iPhoto and Garageband.

Mr. Beckett’s job is to create visuals promoting One United USA and Manchester United. Among his designs for the club are:
• Web banners for OneUnitedUSA.com.
• Facebook photos.
• Twitter backgrounds.
• 8-foot tall banners for soccer conferences.
• Posters advertising membership and exclusive tours.
• Computer desktops.
• Cross-promotion posters for One United USA and Heineken.

• RESPONSIBILITIES:  Mr. Beckett’s job is to create visuals promoting One United USA and Manchester United. Among his designs for the club are:
• Web banners for ManUtdUSA.com and computer desktop backgrounds
• Merchandise designs for colleagues and members, including polos, bags, mousepads, bag tags and more.
• Facebook photos, Twitter and Youtube backgrounds and other social media collateral.
• 8-foot tall banners for yearly NSCAA conference.
• Posters advertising membership and exclusive tours.
• Cross-promotional creative with Heineken and ICONS.com.

Senior Designer and Team Leader

To further my design skills, I began my own bi-weekly soccer magazine entitled "Yellowcard". Originally only ten pages online, the publication grew immensely in popularity and size. By the final issue in Nov. 2008, we were up to 32 bi-weekly pages and were being downloaded from across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Mr. Beckett accomplished a great deal in his short tenure at The Daily Press. Among his responsibilities were:
• Copy edit and design A1s, Local, Nation+World, and Business pages.
• Provide software and hardware training to newsroom staff.
• Manage the paper’s weekly Religion section.
• Create graphics and skybox promotions.
• Edit photos and video.
• Budget and assign pages for the Sunday paper.
• Write occasional columns and reviews.
