Alex Crook

Above all, I hope to capture and communicate a story worth sharing. I firmly believe that by exploring the way that other people experience the world, we can look deeper into our own lives and grow. It is my aim as a photographer to showcase life in all of its diversity. As an optimist, I celebrate similarities rather than differences. In an ever polarized and hostile world, I hope that my work can illustrate the collective good that is inside us. As an environmentalist, I believe that wild places are an intrinsic necessity to the human condition. It is a great source of pride that I am able to share stories about the natural world so that others may be encouraged to experience it first hand and discover the value that it holds for them. Sometimes, I feel like I have never stopped playing an endless game of show and tell. "Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” - Terry Pratchett
