Marketing Manager / Billing Specialist

Marketing is my true passion. My philosophy of marketing is “product evangelism.” This is a concept that you have a very personally strong belief (faith) in the product you are promoting. You want to spread the good-news (gospel) of the benefits of that product to the whole world. You seek out those who will not only accept what you are preaching but they will become followers (disciples) and go about to spread the news themselves. There has to be some excitement built around the product that ignites that fire within the hearts of the consumer. 

My style of management is that of a coach. I want to pull together the right team and encourage their talents. With a great team, you don’t have to make the plays yourself, but provide the right environment and playbook for success. 

My HR experiences to me have been close akin to my marketing approach. I believe that the duty of HR as well as management is marketing towards internal customers. In doing so, they are responsible for the corporate environment and culture that promotes teamwork and productivity.

Development of all sales and marketing materials and marketing plans. Established internet presence including social media, produced marketing plan and materials, basic tech-support for office computers, worked with others to produce Employee Handbook. Gather all information related to customer invoices (work orders, purchase orders, time reports, job reports, mileage, vendor receipts)  and input all relevant information into invoices using Sage 50. Assisted with occasional field service projects. Streamlined functions between offices in order to send out customer invoices in a more timely manner.

Vice President / General Manager for Tennessee's Largest Show Cave. Job duties include but not limited to: supervising staff in daily activities, all marketing functions, all human resources functions, accounting functions, state and federal reports, product development.

Brought about a 23% increase in attendance, 31% increase in revenue, and moved the company into sustaining profitability. Company became debt free for the first time in over 50 years under my . Brought extensive PR through introduction of Bluegrass Underground radio and TV shows, introduced new tours and opened up new parts of the cave for tours, increased local market penetration by over 50% through active community involvement. Redesign of website and led entrance into social media marketing. Received Upper Cumberland Business Journal’s Ovation award for Tourism Promotion  2011 & 2013. - Developed and implemented water heater rebate program resulting in a 90% increase in total water heater sales for three consecutive years, completed market analysis of water heater sales
