Photography Work Study

I am a Banff based photographer that loves adventure, travel and the outdoors.

Given exposure to and work collaboratively with all programming areas of The Banff Centre, including the arts, technical services, leadership, mountain culture programs, and conference business.  Given experience in a real world commercial work environment with photographic skill building opportunities, both creatively and technically, through work with artists and mentor photographers.

Duties included having a working knowledge of how to print and clean on a 44” 4880 Epson printer, knowing how to calibrate all of the digital print labs working stations monitors, and creating instructional templates for print lab monitors. Provided customer service to all students at the University of Windsor with printing needs.   Supervised the print lab monitors and created schedules for them, ensuring all shifts were covered.

Digital Print Lab Manager

Provided support and mentorship for students investigating the creative and critical thinking involved in the processes, vocabulary, concepts, and principals of image based art.  Expose students to two-dimensional and colour based art making through the use of historical precedents and technical approaches.

Studio Practice and Ideas/Images Foundations Class Teaching Assistant

Providing support and mentorship for students technically with their digital camera and Photoshop skills.  Helping to generate new ideas, giving constructive criticism on new bodies of work and conceptual ideas, and providing advice on digital printing processes.

Advanced Photography Teaching Assistant

Teaching students basic dark room procedures.  Providing support, mentorship and constructive criticism on students printing quality, new bodies of work, and conceptual ideas.

Introductory Photography Teaching Assistant

Supervised the general day-to-day maintenance and scheduling of staff for the store.  Providing exceptional customer service and having an extensive knowledge of all art products, placing special orders as required, keeping track of inventory, and helping artist’s problem solve to assist their artistic practices.  Additionally, assisted in picking/cutting mats and assembling framing for customers.

Retail Manager/Assistant Framer

Photographically documented the University of Saskatchewan’s permanent art collection, moved the office and collection to a new office and vault location on campus, prepared galleries for art exhibitions (Hanging, lighting, receptions), helped maintain galleries, assisted at gallery openings, scanned and processed archival slides, preformed regular office duties.

Assistant Photographer

Mediated workflow between Production Director and camera operators during live studio broadcasting, and 	erected set props for scheduled shoots.
