Mechanical Engineering Intern

• Redesigned and fabricated the console of the mobile Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner equipped with uninterruptible power supply and cooling system, using Solidworks and FEA tools.
• Developed a motion control system including motor, actuator, controller, encoder and limit switches.
• Made continuous improvements to console design to reduce cost, improve rigidity and ergonomic function.
• Developed test methods and validation protocols for verification testing and failure analysis.
• Designed a control panel for motion control of mobile PET scanner using membrane switches.
• Contacted vendors regards on parts to optimize mechanical designs for cost and manufacturability.
