Vegetable gardening and new projects that get me excited

I like to be challenged and learning new things, so I've spent 15 years redefining myself at different times. Most recently I restored a 1984 Volkwagen van, learning each step from internet research (lol). I am very much a people person and thrive on connecting. This makes it easy for me to guide and manage people in different scenarios. I pride myself on excellent multi-tasking, with the ability to see the big picture and prioritize. In addition, I enjoy problem-solving and finding unique ways to do things. However, I'm a strong believer in teamwork and that more can be accomplished with more brainpower, albeit a directed effort.

I love to get outdoors. I've been a runner my whole life, but spent 15 years heavy into rock and ice climbing and considered being a guide at one point. Since the birth of my children, Julia and Kilian, I've spent more time focusing on ultra-running, cross-country skiing, telemarking and backcountry skiing.

I worked in outdoor recreation retail for 7 years for both Valhalla Pure Outfitters and True Outdoors. I managed retail operations of the Vernon location for the 3 years of the period of time listed above. I was responsible for day to day operation and human resources. Store operational requirements included hiring, scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. Maintaining store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Providing store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
I Identified current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
