I live an active lifestyle with an interest in yoga

Skiing and motorcycles. i  believe the defining criteria of apparel and accessory design is “end use and functionality” & style.  i have often been tasked with training and mentoring others and endeavor to build solid teams in the workplace. i want to work for a company whose culture has strong ties to the community with an appreciation for service. i have a strong interest in sustainability and exploring new ways to achieve balance in the workplace and community. in addition to my professional life i love fine art & photography. i'm a artist and currently the director and curator at cock gallery portland

I managed the technical development of a boy’s/ kids specialty apparel line for a high quality multi channel children’s retailer specializing in Organic and Oeko-Tex certified products, providing complete technical design support and review from concept to delivery.

Key achievements include:
•	Revised Product Development guidelines to improve delivery. Consistently delivering over 90% of the product on time.
•	Standardized core fit resulting in fewer samples and reduced return rates.
•	Mentored associate Technical designers in the development of their lines, teaching fit                            management and team building.

Senior Technical Designer

Assisted the Lead Designer in the development of Performance Ski Outerwear and designed and developed special “make ups” for Men’s Casual Outerwear lines. I created trend and styling presentations. Produced Technical Sketches and prepared Specification Packages for sampling. Approved all Lab Dips & Strike-Offs and performed fit & quality review for production approval. Supported Sales staff at trade shows.

•	Cultivated strong relationships with sales staff to increase special make development.
•	Reduced line development time from 18 weeks to 12 weeks.

Associate Designer / Special Make Designer

Taught coursework in Product Development, Technical Flat Sketch & Story Board Development, partnering with students to prepare them for real world experience in the apparel industry.

•	Created a comprehensive curriculum for Apparel Industry Overview.

Instructor

I designed and developed Classic Men’s Sportswear for a “better” priced retailer. I researched and analyzed current trends and developed seasonal print, plaid and stripe patterns. Created line presentation collateral and drafted Technical Sketches. Sourced and developed new base fabric qualities. Provided styling & fit specifications for Technical Engineer. Approved Lab Dips, Strike Offs, Knit Downs and performed fit & quality review for production approval.

•	Successfully launched A/K/A Eddie Bauer and grew business from 7 to 21 stores.
•	Researched and compiled base fit information for a completely new product line.
•	Worked extensively with fabric mills to develop EB right fabrics.

Associate Designer

Assisted in the development of Knit Sportswear for Junior’s and Girls 8-14 Collection. I researched & developed knit fabrics with an emphasis on prints, Re-coloring and revising print ways as needed. I approved lab-dips and strike offs. Managed screen print development and produced color separations for screen art. 

•	Developed “Hyper-Color” heat sensitive dyes and print stuff leading to a 5 year exclusive license.
