Owner and designer

My name is Lexi Parisse and I'm a fiber artist and beekeeper. It all began at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where I received a BFA specializing in knitwear. After college I went to work in the NYC fashion industry as an assistant designer, then a design and sales consultant for the largest knitting machine manufacturer in the world, Shima Seiki. While working at Shima, I took a drop spindle class and I was hooked. Now, not only could I create a garment using yarn but I could also create the yarn too! I needed to dive deeper into my new obsession so I decided to leave my job within the fashion industry, move to Long Island and work on a fiber farm. It’s one thing to work with amazing fiber but it’s another thing to work with the animals that provide it to you. Now I am starting a new adventure in my life. I want to not only create and sell beautiful fiber and bee related products but I want to educate people on bees and the fiber arts as well.

-Design a variety of unique knit sweater and accessory patterns
-Publish all designs with written and graphed instructions
-Design yarn and fiber blends using a variety of different natural fibers
-Design and produce handspun yarns and mill-spun yarns
-Make and sell fiber and honeybee related bath and beauty products 
-Source all local fibers
-Lecture and demo at knitting and spinning guilds across New York and New Jersey
-Provide private and group classes in spinning, knitting, felting and sewing
-Offer design consultation

-Designed and graphed knit patterns using exclusive Long Island Livestock yarn
-Helped re-brand product line
-Assisted in yarn and product design
-Headed education programs on and off the farm 
-Designed and headed the farm’s summer camp program
-Managed business operations

Office and Farm Manager

-Designed sweater collection for the showroom under WholeGarment label  
-Produced design based presentations for students and clients
-Worked directly with designers to facilitate production and minimize waste at Shima’s WholeGarment factory
-Helped designers with yarn choice for specific projects
-Worked directly with the factory technicians to insure consistent flawless results

Sales and Design consultant

-Created functional and aesthetic active knitwear designs 
-Sourced factories for prototype production
-Oversaw garment from design to production

Designer

-Contributed designs for monthly collection
-Designed and oversaw sampling of specific looks within a collection 
-Worked with machine programmers to develop new stitches and patterns 
-Spec’d and photographed every fit

Assistant Technical Knitwear Designer

-Cable and construction layouts
-Sourcing trims and fabric

-Designed prints using Photoshop to use in upcoming collections 		
-Contributed ideas for improving collections
