CIP / Industrial / Process Engineer IV

Wide-ranging experience in engineering for manufacturing, promoting techniques in automation for semiconductor and other high tech industries.  Consultant and Factory Planner with a Mechanical Engineering Degree and extensive training/coursework in Industrial Engineering experienced in developing factories for microprocessors/microcontrollers, flat panel display, biomedical, and heavy industries.  Extensive knowledge of operations analysis, TOC, Lean Manufacturing, capacity analysis, workstation improvement, and capital equipment selection leading to start-up and ramp to full capacity.   Strengths include factory conceptualization, applying factory simulation, initiating equipment development, and deploying factory designs with automation.  Designed first volume solar facility for Arco Solar.  Completed a new 40K sq.ft. office design for the German acquisition of Microchip Technology.

Sapphire Fab Process Engineering
Startup of a $2B, 1.4 million sq.ft. Sapphire Faceplate production facility for Apple Computer iPhone screens. Responsible for industrial, manufacturing, and production technology engineering to support new Sapphire Fab Ingot starting as a pilot line and ramping to volume production.
?	Defined and developed handling, workstation, and production flow standards that allowed for ramp of the process line.
?	Yield improvement in handling by over 50% by transport and handling jigs and workstations saving $20M annually.
?	Work with IQC to develop processes and fixtures for testing of crucibles and boules.
?	Develop new procedures, process flow charts and process flow materials for process engineering.
?	Establish new equipment and process layouts to improve material flow and operational efficiency.
?	Develop new handling and storage systems to reduce ergonomic impact of 40# sapphire ingots.
?	Work with factory planning on factory equipment layouts and AMHS designs.

Production Technology Engineering Group
Industrial, manufacturing, and production technology engineering to support multiple factory semiconductor business. Managed budget of over $1M/year.
?	Capital projects for new equipment at over $50M per year. 
?	Responsible for LEAN, Automation, Logistics, Workstation Design, Factory Layout, and Capacity Planning 
?	Develop ergonomics standards, designed all new storage, handling, and workstations. Reduce product scrap by developing jigs and fixtures. 
?	Define new production equipment requirements and defined space, layout, and installation plans. 
?	Develop factory rearrangement packages for new equipment insertions in this legacy fab. Develop LEAN techniques and strategies while responsible for the Fab 2 Production Technology Group Industrial Engineering activities and has also improved production specialist productivity by over 50% by using innovative operations methods and new workstation designs for direct labor employees. 
?	Line and die yield, output, inventory turns, and product quality achieved record results during this period. 
?	Training resource has developed and taught classes including 5S, Why CleanSweep (Kaizen), Why So Clean, and Ergonomics as well as being a coach for the New Lean/Kaizen program. 
?	Complete a building and site plan for the Microchip Karlsruhe operation.
