Mechanical engineer; Associate, product development

I’m a recent graduate with a B.S. in mechanical engineering with a strong background in design and implementation.  I am looking for employment opportunities that will take advantage of both my creative and engineering experience.  I have a special interest in the transportation sector, especially in those developing alternative and renewable energy.  I have CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), significant fabrication experience (welding and machining, carbon-fiber, woodworking/cabinetry), and have worked extensively in automobile and motorcycle mechanics.

Developed prototype and production scale-up foil coating equipment; designed and sourced closed-loop control system to automate process and collect data.  Designed system within budget of $150k to beat custom industrial machine prices of $1+ million.  Worked closely with research team scientists to optimize system and production.

Developed low-cost Langmuir-Blodgett Trough system for creating monolayers on thin foils.

Helped establish 3D printing lab for part prototyping, replacement parts, custom jigs.  Designed parts with SOLIDWORKS and printed using SLA and FDM machines and various slicing software.  

Designed wearable battery product line, worked as part of a team, sourced manufacturing.

Worked with R&D department in conductive ink formulation and testing.

Designed low-cost tensile testing machine to test relative strengths of composites and control samples.
