Answering heavy phone call volume, checking in/out patients, collecting outstanding balance, medical secretary duties and general office duties

• Checking patients In/Out, verifying demographics, maintaining patient office flow, collecting copayments and outstanding balances for office and Infusion Center, preparing charges with icd-9/CPT for billing services for hospital charges and office charges.
• Collecting blood draws and specimens, maintaining a health code policy.
• Answering high volume phone calls, scheduling patient’s appointments, maintaining patient’s treatment schedule for infusion. Following up with the state department twice a month for infectious disease control, general office duties, medical and personal secretary for physician. Completing end of day drawer close out.

Medical Secretary

• Checking patients In/Out, verifying demographics, billing information and insurance
• Taking/applying insurance co pays and answering billing questions
• Answering high volume of inbound calls ensuring timely and accurate response to patients and
doctor messages
• Scheduling patient appointments, coordinating radiology and out patient procedures while getting
prior authorization for chemotherapy and in office procedures
• Working with Registered Nurse’s to answer patient questions and addressing any issues
• Maintaining one on one physician, office manger schedule and travel arrangements
• General office tasks such as preparing documents, providing excellent customer service, ordering
office & chemotherapy supplies, data entry, copying, faxing, filing and sorting incoming mail

• Responsible for scheduling O.R./Cath Lab, Radiology, Labor and Delivery for multi specialty
surgical groups
• Educating patients for their upcoming procedures or exam
• Registering patients for In/Outpatient surgical procedures & radiology exam
• General office task such as answering heavy call volume, collecting patients fee’s for surgery, providing excellent customer service, faxing, filing, data entry and verifying insurance

Central Surgery Scheduler, Patient Admitting Representative

• Responsible for coordinating all surgeries for a multi specialty surgical group with pre-operative
and post-operative teachings to patients
• Checking patients In/Out, verifying demographics and billing information
• Maintaining and ordering patients surgical supplies prior to surgery
• Preparation of charts with pre-op testing and H & P’s prior to consultations and surgeries
• In charge of purchasing, cost analysis, inventory
• Assisting in minor surgeries and transported specimens to the laboratory for testing
• Responsible for account receivable/payable including: payroll, generating cosmetic quotes,
discussing financial options, collecting payments and collecting outstanding balance
• Obtaining surgical clearance with facility requirements and insurance authorization
• General office task such as providing outstanding customer service, confirming appointments,
faxing, stocking medical supplies, data entry, copying, filing, sorting incoming mail
