Store Management (current)

Responsible for daily store operations of $4 -$7M in annual sales.
 Manage staff of 40 -55 employees, including seven managers.
 Oversee a management team involving multiple departments within the store including Music, Café, Children’s, Community Relations, and Receiving.
 Responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals annually, comparable to prior year.
 Consistently exceed company metrics including overall store sales, memberships, SPH payroll, institutional sales, bookfair sales, Barnes & Noble Café sales, Kid’s Club Program, and email capture.
 Provide an environment of excellent customer service and community relation programs.
 Grow and maintain relationships with a variety of community organizations such as schools, libraries, and local businesses. Procure recurring bookfair sales, which creates $25-$35K per year.
 Analyze business trends and interpret Profit & Loss reports.
 Responsible for all financial operations within the store, including ordering, cash reconciliation, and informed decisions to financially benefit the store.
 Reduced operational, external, and internal loss from 1.92% to 0.94%
 Facilitate numerous job fairs, conduct orientations and interviews, and fill positions throughout the district.
 Knowledge of state and company human resource policies and procedures.
 Engage and motivate booksellers.
 Develop and train a talent bench. This includes the use of coaching and company procedures to
cross-train management and employees and creating available employees to promote.
 Performance manage booksellers and managers as needed. Conduct multiple performance discussions with booksellers and managers while following company procedure to direct or teach employees.
 Hold weekly manager meetings.
 Prior management positions: Assistant Manager, Merchandising Manager, Children’s Department Manager, Barnes & Noble Café Manager, Café Lead, Bargain Lead, Children’s Lead
