I have worked in the Fashion industry for 5+ years. I have created my own collection of clothing and showcased it at a fashion show in 2010 and then had a photo shoot for that collection, having worked with professional photographers, models and stylists. After starting college, I worked at the Armoire closet as a merchandising coordinator in 2011 for about 10 months while also working at Ricochet Wearable Arts as a Public Relations and Marketing Associate for 8 months. Towards mid to end of 2012, I had to leave these jobs, because I was leaving the bay area for college. So in fall 2012, I got a job at Glam Couture Magazine, as an Associate Editor for 8 months. When summer 2013 was starting, I had to leave Glam Couture because the editor in chief was having family problems, so she was shutting down the magazine. However, when summer started I got a job as an Assistant Buyer at New Style Boutique in New Delhi, India for the summer. And now in December 2014 I graduated from UC Davis for Business and Fashion.

Ensured timely and efficient product flow by partnering with vendors, distribution centers, and shipment tracking and managed markdown and price change strategies 	

Observed and managed stock levels	 within department and contributed to preparation and execution of financial plans 

Got feedback from customers and implemented changes accordingly resulting in 5.6% increase of customer base

Helped implement a system to figure out allocation strategies and deal with hold and flow issues

Worked on retail floor from time to time when needed

Assistant Buyer

Established new area of branded fashion coverage for Glam Couture, writing extensively about the production of branded content from up and coming fashion designers to authors

Worked with a team to determine the layout of the fashion portion of the magazine and then delegated tasks accordingly

Took pictures of new clothing and accessories to showcase in the magazine and handled a 40+ team

Associate Editor

Assisted in creating and maintaining relationships with marketing companies

Planned, assembled and stocked product displays in store and made recommendations to retailers regarding product displays, promotional programs and advertising

Public Relations and Marketing Associate

Collaborated with multiple buyers to facilitate the marketing efforts of new products and development of promotional calendars, product launches, and employee incentive programs 

Coordinated different aspects of purchase orders such as coding, PO entries, PO revisions and on-order reconciliations along with maintaining weekly orders. 

Negotiated costs, vendor margin support, and wholesale pricing which resulted in increased sales of 6% over fiscal year and improved gross margin rate by 1.3%

Worked extensively with excel becoming proficient in Pivot tables and V lookups.
