Mariah’s work acts as an exploration to see how graphic design can be used as a vessel to represent other subjects or concepts by means of abstraction, typography, and other forms of image making.
With influences such as the Guerrilla Girls, Barbara Kruger and Bell Hooks, she is able to take on a diverse style.
Ever since she was a postgraduate she has been fascinated by the endless possibilites of art and design. What starts as an idea soon become finessed into a reality. Much of her drive and inspiration comes from her travels and seeking out wilderness around her. It is experiencing different and new cultures and environments that feed her creativity.
What started as subtle interest, transformed into a passion through diligent and academic practice.
