Assistant designer

My name is Lige Lu Carrillo, Pigeon.
An organized, versatile and creative team player with special skills who is confident and aware 
of industry trends for development, presentation, and visual communication. My goal is to become associated with a company where I can utilize my design skills and gain further experience while
enhancing the company’s productivity and reputation.

Private Label at Brighton Collectables is a wholesale division that produces high-quality leather accessories, such as belts, wallet, leather key fobs and other small leather goods. Our customers include LL Bean, Orvis, Duluth Trading Co, Red Wing Shoes, REI, Browning, Hook N Hide, and others smaller accounts. At Brighton, I provide direct support for product design and development to sales representative before production stage.

The process includes:
- Raw materials sourcing from domestic and overseas suppliers especially for leather and hardware.
- Designing with hand sketching and adobe creative cloud. (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). After designs are approved, create tech-packs and sample request to sample makers.
- Sampling while communicating with in-house and oversea sample makers for design and spec changes.
- Photograph style photos and creating cost sheets.
- Problem-solving throughout the development process and presenting the finish styles to customers.

Pink Dolphin Clothing is a Men’s streets wear brand and company. While working there, I Provide direct fashion industry related supports to Senior Designer. The supports include:

- Researching fashion trend and put together line sheets for each season. Assisting in apparel development, fabric sourcing, fitting and commenting.
- Designing t-shirt graphics, apparel styles, accessories, and trims from hand sketching and translate into digital files in adobe creative cloud. (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). After designs are approved, create tech-packs and communicates with overseas factories.
- Help outdoor and in-house Photo-shootings and editing lookbooks, social media photos, and product photos for marketing purpose.
- Administrate with updating design calendars, costing excels, order information, Shopify, and wholesale accounts.

Design Assistant

Provided design services for local non-profits, such as Family Medicine Center, The VCU Fashion Show and the Union Hill Sausage Festival.

Assistant Designer

Bella Rosa is a Richmond, VA local bridal & special occasions store sells it’s own and other well-known brands bridal wears. After researched and learned about bridal industry trends, I assisted in designing and creating various bridal accessories with embroidery and beading skills. I also provided outstanding store customer service.

Design and Marketing Intern

Developed brochures, invitations, posters, web images, marketing materials, and adapted the existing identity system. Designed annual
ads package for Battle for the Capital (A-10 men’s crosstown basketball rivalry) and VCU Medical Center Alumni Reunion.

VCU Alumni Communications and Development

Actor is an outdoor apparel company based in Guangzhou, China. For my summer internship, I was assisted in designing 2013 products catalog and apparel graphics and assisted in organizing Annual China International Outdoor Trade Show and the meeting with distributors. For sales, used personal selling skills to uncover customer needs and find products that would suit their needs. Helped to restock products daily and ensured that all merchandise was accounted for through completion of inventory.
