Fourteen years ago I joined the US Coast Guard and over the course of a decade I had the pleasure of serving in an outstanding organization. From protecting commercial fisherman in the unforgiving seas of Alaska to drug interdiction in the smoldering South Pacific. All this I did while performing my main job as a Marine Electrician, ensuring ships and facilities were equipped for daily routine. My experiences were unique and diverse. I separated the Coast Guard with an accommodation ribbon and several medals and moved on to pursue to a new chapter in my life, Industrial Design. I graduated from the Art Institute of Portland, a great school with dedicated teachers and resources the military and taxpayers were so kind to pay for. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree and a strong portfolio. I thoroughly enjoyed the Art Institute of Portland for the expectations they had for their students. At last I have reached the basic skills needed to become a professional creative. This dream is getting closer to becoming a reality. After working hard in school at design research, prototype modeling, presentations and even freelance work I am ready to become a full time designer. At the home-front I have a beautiful wife and two girls that I spend most of my time with. If not with them you'll catch me crafting away in the garage, mowing my endless hay-cut-short lawn or on the computer. Thank you for time and I look forward to working with you.
