I am currently seeking employment as a mechanical engineer with a preference for hands-on product design and development. One of my biggest strengths is I am a very good listener and implementer; I pay close attention to all of the problems my team faces, brainstorm solutions, identify issues with each solution that can crop up later, and find ways to implement those solutions while minimizing or eliminating those future problems.

My responsibilities include scanning customer items in a quick and orderly fashion, bagging items so as to prevent any damage or cross contamination, and always ensuring my customer has a fulfilling experience in our store.

On this project, my duties and responsibilities were the design and construction of test stands for the evaluation of experimental multi-stack fuel cell systems. Design work was completed in both SolidWorks for solid model design and equipment layout, and Mathematica for system designs based on heat transfer calculations to aid in material quantity definitions. Afterwards I was in charge of ordering and acquiring all necessary materials and components for construction, and then directed efforts to assemble the hardware of the entire test stand. The construction gave me experience with machine shop tools, working with stainless steel tubing and compression fittings, and compressed gasses, including hydrogen, liquid nitrogen, and natural gas. During operation I was constantly evaluating the test stand for further improvements, and was responsible for any maintenance or changes needed in order to test different fixtures for evaluation.

Research Engineer

In this position I was responsible for the manufacture of machined green state alumina plates for eventual use in an experimental single-body ceramic heat exchanger. Although I came into the project late in its lifecycle, the engraving process of the alumina plates was a constantly evolving process, and I was in charge of furthering those improvements in order to produce better quality materials. Using SolidWorks I made a fixture to improve the repeatability of the engraving process, updated and improved the design model used for the engraving machine's pattern, and created new techniques for assembling the plates into the single-body without resulting in leaks or cracks in the structure.
