At CrossFit H2O, I have grown our gym from a 2 car garage in Watertown, Ma, where I coached friends and family on a volunteer basis into a 7,000 square foot facility with 7 part time employees.

Over the course of 5 years, we have cultivated a 100+ member community centered around the improved health and well-being of our members and staff. Not just interested in getting people to lift more weight and run faster, we have educated our community on how to eat well, manage stress, cultivate their personal relationships and create healthy and positive life-styles that will endure for the rest of their lives.

My primary roles within CrossFit H2O have been hiring, training and developing our coaching staff, managing the physical training of 100+ members and creating content for our website, youtube channel and other social media outlets. I have created programs for advanced athletes, general fitness enthusiasts and members with movement dysfunction. I have run our weekly staff meetings during which time staff are brought up to speed on new procedures and our coaches are given the opportunity to hone their craft as well as learning new techniques for teaching and growing their own ability to perform a variety of exercises varying in difficulty.

At Boston Dynamics, my responsibilities included all logistics surrounding maintenance, lab and field testing for both the BigDog and LS3 projects (precursors to the Spot robot). I managed a fluctuating team of 8-12 engineers, mechanics and technicians in often difficult field situations under tight deadlines.

At Boston Dynamics, there is a strong emphasis on getting our robots to perform "?in real life"?. Every robot that Boston Dynamics creates in the lab is brought into the field for rigorous outdoor testing. For the BigDog and LS3 robots, which have a high level of capacity (such as running autonomously for miles and hours) we needed lots of space and equipment to support those endeavors. I sourced and coordinated multiple field testing locations including privately owned woodlands, city and state parks, and military facilities, created our operating procedures for transport and ensured that our equipment (a multi-million dollar arsenal of test tools and support equipment) arrived in all locations safe and sound.

One of our most difficult field operating scenarios was transporting 2 of our BigDog robots to Thailand for the joint operation between the United States Marines and Thailand's armed forces known as Cobra Gold. For this trip I coordinated transport via a commercial carrier of our robots and equipment and needed to secure the Department of Defenses approval for the shipping and re-entry into the United States. In addition to pursuing all formal normalized transportation requirements within the United States, this required a lot of "thinking outside the box"? once in Thailand as the culture and infrastructure there do not match the level within the United States. Navigating our equipment's exit from Thai customs was particularly difficult.
