A recent graduate of Leeds Beckett University with a Master's degree in Responsible Tourism Management, I possess experience writing, copy editing and proofreading for several media outlets. Articles I have written addressing subjects such as sports, travel and music have been published on numerous websites.

One of those websites is Bleacher Report, which provides members of the public the opportunity to comment on sports matters. 11 of the 25 articles I have composed for Bleacher Report have earned medals, which are awarded to articles that have attracted at least 1,000 reads. 

In addition, I have spent several years working in cross-cultural education, having taught English at public schools in both Japan and France. Through my experience working abroad, I became fluent in French and conservational in Japanese.  

I am currently seeking a position with a public relations company, a destination marketing organization or media outlet in which I would research, draft and compose articles to be published and liaise with media contacts.

Communicated with clients to share information on developing a toolkit for destination marketing organizations, conducted research for projects examining a range of sustainable hospitality and tourism issues and managed social media accounts for a community organization run by Solimar.

Research Associate

At the public relations company, wrote press releases for Visit Wales, created pitches for Viator.com, upgraded the media lists for numerous clients, and compiled a list of activities in London, the Barbados and the Netherlands for clients to promote in addition to calculating advertising values for publications.

Intern

Conducted campus tours in order to lure prospective students, created and maintained files for international applicants, composed 33 blog articles to promote Leeds and the university, and contacted accepted students from the United States to confirm their attendance.

International Student Ambassador

Composed 25 articles detailing the environmentally friendly practices of accommodation providers in Peru for the tour operator’s official website.

Resolved technical deficiencies New Jersey taxpayers experienced in obtaining a housing benefit for seniors and low income homeowners by providing them information gathered from databases to respond to their inquiries.

Call Center Representative

Ordered payoff statements on behalf of borrowers, conducted verifications of employment, and updated crucial information, such as title commitment and case number assignment.

Loan Opener

Judged manuscripts to determine suitability for publication in the magazine, prepared correspondence to subscribers, created a database in Microsoft Excel of milestones published in the magazine’s pages and wrote news stories for the magazine to publicize events important to Quakers. 
• Improved more than 55 articles chosen for publication by constant copy editing and proofreading using the Chicago Manual of Style.
• Created an anthology of environmentally-themed stories published throughout the entire 55-year history of Friends Journal by selecting appropriate articles.
