Fashion Designer

I'm a creative, experienced Fashion Designer with over 5 years of experience in the Contemporary Women's Apparel Market.

-Responsible for designing dresses, blouses, knitwear, sweaters, bottoms and outerwear for each monthly collection of Fifteen Twenty, Red 23, Karen Kane, Karen by Karen Kane, and Karen Kane Women’s. 
-Designs forthe higher end, contemporary customer (Fifteen Twenty and Red 23) and the commercial missy customer (Karen Kane Collections).
-Attends daily fittings and works with patternmakers to develop samples from conceptual sketch to completion.
-Established a new operating system for the development and execution of all styles produced overseas. 
-Supervises associate and graphic designers in creating detailed tech packs & artwork slopers for all imported samples.
-Approves lab dips, knit-downs, and trim standards. Tracks samples from 1st Proto through duplicates to ensure that every style maintains the KK standard regarding fabric quality, color, trim, artwork layout, & garment construction. 
-Researches market and develops seasonal trends to create highly commercial & salable designs. 
- Styles photo shoots to create “must-have”outfits for seasonal look books, in-store photo installations, website, and promotional advertising.
- Utilizes information from sales meetings and competition selling meetings to capitalize on selling successes and address any potentially slow selling bodies.

-Designed the women’s contemporary collection of knit tops and denim bottomsfor the edgy, trend-driven aesthetic of the Black Hearts Brigade customer. 
- Created capsule collections of dresses, knit tops, bottoms, swimwear, and lingerie for multiple private label accounts including Urban Outfitters, Nasty Gal, and Hot Topic.
- Responsible for all tech packing and closely oversaw domestic and import development. 
- Sourced new fabrics, trims, & embellishments for private label designs and worked with patternmakers to develop samples for buyer approval.
- Developed interesting dye and wash treatments and approved strike-offs.
-Made line sheets, photographed samples, and styled photo shoots for look books and website.
- Researched market trends, developed initial concept boards, and created seasonal color stories.

Women's Designer

- Developed a digital fashion illustration appendix for new edition of leading industry fashion drawing textbook: 9 Heads: A Guide to Drawing Fashion by Nancy Reigelman, published Fall 2012.
-Taught numerous methods for manipulating hand-drawn illustrations in Adobe Photoshop.
- Designed the eight tutorials, wrote all accompanying educational text, and performed all digital manipulations.

Photoshop Artist and Writer

-Worked with Senior Designer to create and develop seasonal collection deliveries. 
- Performed design research and createdtrend boards for inspiration and line development. 
-Responsible for maintaining design samples, assigning style numbers, and organizing design room.
-Sketched and rendered CADS to accurately convey designer’s vision and create seasonal line sheets.
