Intern/Volunteer

My position has consisted of reaching out to organizations around the country and globe to bring in potential events to the state of Maine. I have also helped in planning for their recent Business of Sports Symposium as well as providing research and data for other future potential events. Here, I report to their Strategic Director.

Responsibilities included informational data basing, event planning and setup, communicating with potential clients and sales opportunities, as well as networking in both a face-to-face and technological-friendly manner with ticket holders and sponsors. This internship supplied plenty of chances for public and community relations involvement and experience.

Sales/Marketing Intern

Duties with this 5K event entailed setup for the main event as well as a multitude of mini-events that were incorporated into the main event making this marathon possible. My challenge was in reaching out to prospective sponsorships of the event, generating long-lasting relationships with local organizations and the communities surrounding the marathon, as well as providing a friendly and entertaining atmosphere for those involved. This position relied on extremely intense hands-on and time consuming tasks that incorporated my skills in team work and leadership abilities. A good portion of my time involved was dedicated to marketing this event, as well as providing a social media connection with our fans.
