Designer/Marketing/Production/Development

I've been a Graphic Designer for 18 years professionally, mainly focused in the Automotive/Motorcycle Industry. My favorite aspects of the job have always been Apparel Design, POP, Photography, Product Development, Troubleshooting and Brand Management. Working for smaller Race Teams and Custom Shops the last few years has grown my skill set and I'd love nothing more that to pursue a career that can embrace them. I'd love the opportunity to continue my career in the Action Sports/Apparel based industry, as they are very much passions of mine. Look forward to meeting you!

After Fine Tuned went the was of the Dodo, I set out to get some more hands-on experience at smaller custom shops and race teams. I would always add to the place with my photos and graphic design abilities, but was also given the chance to do much more. I learned how to build just about anything, how to troubleshoot problems with a long-lasting answer, so it wouldn't need to be addressed again in the future. This life is tough for a lot of people because if you aren't self motivated and very driven, you'll fail on all levels. Over these years I've been able to help smaller shops become big shop that are known around the world, I was able to do this by changing the way they represented themselves, both with the look and feel of the place, and by going on forums and social media to let people know they exist. The only problem with this type of work is that there isn't much of a future in it. Once I'd build up the brand the owners would get so pleased with themselves that they would want to take over what I was doing, then it would be time for me to move on.

After spending my free time designing and drawing custom cars, my work was eventually noticed by TV producers, and I was given the chance to hand pick team members, and be filmed as we rebuilt cars in a weeks time. It started out being the same producers as OverHaulin' but was taken over by someboyd else who thought that embezzling the budget was better than having a hit show. We filmed 5 episodes before he skipped town with all the dough. The episodes originally aired on SPEED Channel and had some of the best rating the station ever had, with a .74-.78, they're previous hit  shows would get a .5. Then several years later the show appeared on Discovery Channel in over 80 countries around the world, it is now available to watch on youtube, at https://www.youtube.com/user/finetunedtv

Car Designer/Builder for TV

After spending 3 years working for the Edelbrocks, JE made me an offer to come back and work for them again, and it was an offer too good to refuse. I made the move back to JE and was able to raise the level of integrity of the brand through my design abilities. Before they were bought out by "non-car guys" it was a great place to work.

Advertising Dept

The Edelbrock Family gave me the opportunity to be the Senior Designer of their in-house Advertising Agency, and it has been one of my most memorable experiences. They not only relied on me to lead the team and accomplish the heavy work-load on time (40+ ads a month, 8 catalogs a year, POP displays, packaging, apparel design, trade show booth design) but also incorporated me into the Engineering Dept and got me involved with product development and race track support.

Senior Designer

At JE Pistons I handled all aspects of the Advertising Dept, including Graphic Design, Photography, Media Planning & buying, Sponsorships, Trade Show booth design, Event Coverage, Apparel Design, and what ever else would fall on my plate, including Tooling Design, Manufacturing Efficiency, even helping the Accounting Dept by writing them Macro Programs in Excel to make the month-end closing more efficient.
