Approximately 15 years of purchasing and inventory control experience within fast-paced manufacturing environments. Throughout my career I have led and facilitated all procurement functions and managed raw material inventory levels. My knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts enabled me to establish both vendor-managed inventory and a Kanban purchase process at our facility.

Purchase of all raw materials/supplies for manufacturing, R&D, G&A in accordance with supply agreements

Work with vendors to obtain material specifications, current pricing and analyze pricing for volume discounts

Meet with and evaluate potential new vendors.  Assist in contract negotiations with vendors, as required.   Evaluate and assist in improvement of vendor performance where possible. 

Optimize raw material inventory levels to meet manufacturing demands and management guidelines

Ensure that manufacturing schedules and customer orders are not missed due to lack of raw materials.

Participate in kaizen events as a part of lean manufacturing improvements throughout the organization in order to minimize waste and optimize production

Participate in daily production meetings and provide support between production and purchasing to assure availability of raw materials supplies

Assist in handling logistics functions

Utilize ERP system information needed to support purchasing function.  Record and enter purchase orders on ERP system

Work with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure incoming raw materials certifications and compliance

Coordinate return of discrepant material to supplier and participate in subsequent discussions on reducing quality problems

Oversee receiving operations and coordinate through Quality Assurance
