I am an experienced advertising specialist and lifetime creative whose tool of choice is the camera. My photographic style has been described as clean, innovative and energetic.

As a commercial photographer and flow-state enthusiast with a passion for creating inspiring imagery – my love for adventure has always found its way into my professional work. Whether it’s a product image, an active lifestyle shot, or an authentic portrait, I carry creative solutions in my back pocket.

In all my work, I draw on my background as a digital artist in the marketing department of Disney Online Studios and my 10+ years as a graphic designer to ensure effectiveness of composition, message delivery and visual impact. At Disney, I worked with world-renowned brands like Star Wars, Marvel, and Club Penguin. Past and current clients of Daniel Jones Photography include top-level west coast organizations such as Accelerate Okanagan, SunRype, Destination BC and Mega Build Lab.

Volunteered construction and photography skills for a house building initiative in the impoverished region of El Pariaso, Nicaragua.

As part of a high-performing, collaborative marketing team, created illustrations and assets for diverse campaigns that included TV spots, music videos, digital and print ads, and homepage advertisements that were viewed by millions of unique visitors per day.

•Worked on collaborative teams or as a solo artist from layout to creation of visual assets from scratch to bring key communication messages to life.

•Met with stakeholders to ensure illustrations and designs met clients’ expectations.

•Worked with brands such as Lucas Films, Muppets, Frozen, Pixar, and Marvel, from conception in the brainstorming phase, through a myriad of consultative and collaborative stages, to final delivery to a variety of stakeholders, helping drive results with compelling ideas and engaging illustrations and designs. 

•Conceived and implemented new brainstorm techniques that empowered marketing team members and invigorated inspiration, creative morale and refreshing ideas.
  
•Acted as liaison between Lucas Film Ltd. and Disney Interactive Executives and third-party artists to ensure visual quality was met on a very tight campaign deadline.

Digital Artist / Brand Designer for the Marketing Department

Produced Online Multimedia courses with tasks that included photo manipulation, retouching, compositing, editing sound, general graphic design, and in-house corporate branding for several Fortune 500 companies.

Thirteen Skateboards was a skateboard manufacturing company that spawned a product distribution facility which grew to a successful nationwide action sports provider.

Grew a small skateboard manufacturing facility from a start-up, to a distribution company that achieved consistent growth for a six year period and delivered a full line of hard goods and soft goods Canada-wide to a customer base of retailers.

•Designed the manufacturing process through consultation, research and hands-on experimentation.

Owner/Operator

Barrie Skateboard Association was formed to spearhead planning and construction of the City of Barrie’s first and only skateboard facility.

Volunteered as a lead member of the Barrie Skateboard Association and provided leadership to a group of young residents in bringing a skateboarding facility to the city.

•Helped develop the concept, attract community interest, support and pursue political negotiations.

•Played a significant role in the design of the facility.  

•Assisted in the solution of problems related to site suitability for approved designs.  
•Worked directly with the architect on production of facility plans. 
 
•Consulted with the contractor to help resolve problems that arose during construction.

•Committed to the concept and completion of a 20,000 square foot concrete skateboarding facility
