"To educate the mind, you MUST touch the heart"?- Paul Shaw Paul Shaw is capable of transforming a company’s organizational activity, employee motivation, productivity, and satisfaction through continued education and professional development. Paul is a master at incorporating the following seven domains of learning to his practice: assessment, reflection/inquiry, planning, curriculum mapping, pedagogy, advocating, and creating a positive environment. Success has not always come easy for Paul. While in a parent-teacher conference in the 4th grade, Paul’s teacher insisted, “Paul struggles as a reader”. He did not interpret this news as a setback, but a challenge. Instead of accepting this truth, he decided to overcome this obstacle. Paul went on to receive his B.A. in English, and later his M.A. in Education. This is one example of Paul’s tenacity to continuously work hard to achieve success. Today, Paul is a well-versed educator, presenter, and communicator. While studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning his M.A. from the University of Southern California, and his preliminary California Teaching Credential, Paul's entrepreneurial spirit enabled him to successfully operated his own business as an independently contracted Program and Activities Coordinator with the Ocean Adventure Program and Erik Nelsen Surf Camps. Paul also has an extensive background in property and casualty insurance sales, marketing, policies, and claims. Furthermore, Paul exhibits experience in finance and wealth management. He also holds a preliminary, single subject (English language arts), California Teaching Credential. Having recently graduated, Paul is eager to pursue his goals applying learning theories, curriculum mapping, and pedagogical strategies in a professional training environment. Paul is prioritizing his search based on the culture and work environment of potential employers.
