Designer

Currently I am a designer for our Hurley Brand at ACF.  I am responsible for all stages of the process from concept art to overseeing factories with product development making corrections on patterns and outsole designs and keeping track of our sampling timeline.  My experience in footwear has been extensive, having designed for both kids and womens brands and gaining so much knowledge with both categories over the years.

As a designer at Happy Threads I work with many different children's licenses, creating dynamic and on trend designs for our licensed and private label children's apparel lines. On a regular basis I do trend research, update our library of licensed artwork and create collections for our buyers and sales team based off their needs. I am also tasked with helping with packaging which includes everything from hangtags, special header cards, boxes and mock ups of in store displays.

I was responsible for designing footwear for our women's and boy's line for Mootsie Tootsie's and Ben Sherman ranging from casual to dress and special occasion. I was in charge of the entire design process from initial sketches to sample review. I follow trends within the market to help build a concept that would work for our customer by shopping certain markets and communicating with oversea vendors. I also had direct communication with our Asia Development office to make sure samples and materials are being developed in a timely manner so while I'm at the China office I can make my revisions and approvals for the line to fit our budget. I also met with our license teams to go over direction for each line to make sure our product was being delivered to our target customers.

Womens and Kids Footwear Designer

I was responsible for designing footwear for kids and young teens, from everyday active wear to seasonal items. I worked with many different brands to create young and fun styles for both girls and boys that both the children and parents will love. I would follow trends within the market to help build a concept that was in trend for the season that made sense for each specific age group and gender. I also had a hand in the entire design process, from first design sketches, to creating mechanical tech packs, to corresponding with and traveling to Asia to view and advise on sample corrections, material changes, outsole development and quality control.
