Mechanical engineer by degree from North Dakota State University with a background in naval nuclear propulsion and fluid system maintenance of nuclear powered aircraft carriers and submarines. Have worked as a civilian for the US Navy in Bremerton, WA, Everett, WA, San Diego, CA, Yokosuka, Japan with brief stints onboard actively deployed carriers in the South and East China Seas and the Persian Gulf.
Currently enrolled in programming nanodegree via udacity.com to develop proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Python programming languages. Ultimate goal is to complete nanodegree for machine learning to develop the skills necessary for the rapidly emerging smart wearable tech industry.
Have completed singular courses in fashion design, textiles, and digital illustration/image manipulation at the Art Institutes of Seattle and California-San Diego. Courses have provided a creative outlet aside from technical/mechanical career duties and have laid groundwork to break into wearble tech in conjunction with mechanical and computer science skills. Weird combination, huh? I love it!
[My profile photo was taken during a "surf search" expedition at First Beach in La Push, Washington State and the background is a flight over the Philippines en route to Bali after spending 5 months working in Japan.]
