In May of 2015 I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from The University of Cincinnati, with three and a half years engineering related work experience. Following my final Co-op at Clopay Building Products I was offered a position as a Contract Engineer within the entry door product line, where I'm currently employed. As a former athlete my goal is to pursue a career in the sports and recreational industry. Therefore I am currently seeking a position in product development focusing on consumer goods for both professional and recreational use. I am also open and willing to consider other fields and industries.

My co-op experiences provided me with invaluable opportunities to expand my knowledge in product development and process improvement. Working in real world situations has allowed me to develop both personally and professionally. One of my greatest achievements has been learning to adapt and be flexible in various rolls within each work environment.

• I am currently working as the sole Entry Door Engineer, overseeing and executing product changes, custom orders, ECO’s, and all other aspect of the product line. I collaborate with other departments and vendors to produce a superior product ultimately meeting customer needs.
• I use AutoCAD for all custom door orders to illustrate how the door will look from an elevated view. It is also used for all engineering drawings and is a useful tool when creating new products.

 • Formulated windcode calculations for clients in high wind prone areas. Worked Directly with the customer to ensure quality and satisfaction.
 • Carried out Engineering Change Notices and Document Revisions for small projects or updates.
 • Developed a quickdraw program through AutoCAD that creates a specific door for the customer, eliminating the need for an engineer to create a shop drawing. 

Product Engineer Co-op

• Helped re-design the product and process for reinforced stops on double swing hospital doors.
• Designed CAD (Pro-Engineer) drawings to document the changes and get prototypes made, helped gain support and approval from users and management, and finally implement the changes.
• Additionally, supported the design programming for new machine for improved cycle time and repeatability.
• Supported a number of Engineering changes to improve quality, cost, labor and cycle time. Used ProE and other programs.

• Executed time studies in the medical area to verify setup & run times of various medical parts and components.
• Worked on a temporary layout for equipment that needed to be moved, during a demolition and expansion of an area of the facility.
• Maintained BOMs, designed and fabricated fixtures in house. Compared two machines to determine the best equipment internally to make a quality, cost effective part.
