• Consult with engineer regarding order information, like design, capacity purpose and types of material to be used to fabricate product • Analyze drawings and verbal instructions to plan layout to determine sequence of operations • Select metal stock lays out according to dimensions from scale drawings • Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs • Sets up operations on lathe, mill or grinder to machine parts to specifications, and verify parts to specifications using measuring instruments

• Set up and operate CNC  lathes and mills • Adjust machine offsets to achieve blueprint requirement  • Run and edit programs • Check levels of lubricating fluid • Correct defects as and when required • Perform quality control procedures
