Freelance Graphic Design / Photography / Illustration

My name is Matthew Morse. I am a native of Charleston, South Carolina with a strong background in marketing and graphic design.

I have over 10 years experience as a freelance  graphic designer and photographer. I worked as an art director for one of the largest advertising agencies in the southeast where I produced award-winning work for numerous clients.

More recently I have been freelancing and have designed more than 1000 books for CreateSpace Publishing company. 

I am eager to work for a forward-thinking company where I will have the opportunity to explore new marketing opportunities and produce exceptional work. My strong graphic design and photography background combined with my diverse experience in a full-service ad agency make me an asset to your marketing team.

For the past 10 years, I have been working as a freelance graphic designer, photographer and illustrator. I’ve photographed weddings, commercial portraits, architecture and editorial work. My design experience includes waybill design, logos and identity packages.

My personal client list includes Charlie Magazine, Charleston Digital Corridor, Charleston Digital Corridor’s Flagship, Wild Dunes Resort, Tristan Restaurant, Cataloochee Guest Ranch & Ski Cataloochee, Alice Drive Baptist Church, Shaw AFB Softball Team, LaBarge + Partners, Habitat for Humanity, Rawle Murdy & Associates and a multitude of individual clients.

Since 2009, I have been working as a designer for CreateSpace. In that time, I have completed work on over 1,000 books, designing for a diverse range of topics including children’s literature, horror, politics, religion, fantasy and professional development, among others. 

I have created book covers and interiors utilizing provided imagery, stock photography and custom illustrations, lists, tables and charts.

Freelance Graphic Designer

From January 2007 to the end of 2008, I worked as an Art Director for Rawle Murdy & Associates. I worked with copywriters, designers, photographers, and creative directors to create a range of projects including corporate identity, web layouts, magazine layouts, business cards, brochures and outdoor media.

My client list included South Carolina Aquarium, Piggly Wiggly, Wild Dunes, Sea Pines Resort, Kiawah Island, John Ancrum SPCA, Patriot’s Point, Cheeseburger in Paradise, The Post and Courier Classifieds, Port of Charleston, Joe Riley for Mayor, Charleston Place Hotel and Windsor Court Hotel.
