Too. there are areas in which i know i need more work. i need to continue to learn (i've found lynda.com is my new best friend). i need to really track my diet and exercise habits (looks like i'll be buying a fitbit pretty soon!). i want to expand my mind through more travel

Administrative Assistant

With more than 25 years of experience in marketing and public relations and 13 of those in credit unions, I bring with me an advanced set of skills of a communications professional with experience in promoting products, programs, and services to businesses and consumers of all types. 
In continuing to educate myself in my professional career, I am fortunate to have practical work experience in marketing, writing, visual communications, strategic planning, content management systems, and social media platforms.


One of my friends reached out to me when she needed a reliable person to hire for their front desk receptionist position. I am currently working part-time as the company's administrative assistant where I field phone calls, handle and sort mail and shipments, I compile survey data and distribute reports from Customer Satisfaction surveys, and I write an occasional email newsletter.

Until April 2015, I was the VP of Marketing & BD for the fifth largest credit union in the Knoxville market. I was responsible for all marketing efforts for the seven full-service branches in Knoxville, Martin, and Memphis, plus two high school based credit unions. 

During that time, we opened five new branches; moved to a new location in Memphis; launched approximately eight new products and services; I supervised the community outreach and financial education efforts of my direct report, the business development manager; I wrote winning nominations for two national awards for a co-worker; and won industry awards for TV, community events, and debit card design.

Vice President of Marketing & Business Development

Marketing support for the fourth largest credit union in the Knoxville area. I was responsible for developing the annual report and year in review video presentation for the annual meeting, and making popcorn for nearly the entire staff at the corporate office every Friday. 
During the final year, when the credit union went through a major brand and name change, I was responsible for the majority of redesign of collateral materials. I was also named Employee of the Year, maybe it was because of the popcorn.

Marketing Coordinator

National Book Warehouse, an overstock retailer of books in 150 stores in 38 states, which operated on three business models: Foozles, was a large market outlet store low-cost competitor to the higher-end stores such as Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million; Book Warehouse stores also operated in outlet centers, but had lower end displays and set ups; The Book Market stores were clearance style retail bookstores that occupied empty spaces in free standing stores or strip centers for roughly 90 days. 

I handled all aspects of marketing from conception and design to production. I also worked with a media buyer from The Tombras Group in Knoxville to place ads for The Book Market in newspapers all over the country.
