I have a versatile skill set due to having worked in a variety of fields including customer service management, public relations, event planning, marketing and professional writing. I've worked hard at improving my abilities in managing people and processes while communicating effectively and efficiently. Wanting to help my client, customer or consumer have the best experience possible, I continue to find this philosophy a part of my every day as a car sales consultant.

I assist in the entirety of the sales process from beginning to close helping customers purchase new and used cars. I also assist in the leasing process.

Fostering strong client relationships while ensuring accuracy in the record procurement process was my role as account manager. I had a set list of clients that I would handle the record ordering needs for from beginning to end. Attorneys need their records fast and complete as the cases they work on depend on it so timeliness, accuracy and extraordinary attention to detail was crucial.

I was promoted to manager of the client services department after success as an account manager. Managing a staff of more than 30 employees including temporary hires and interns, my key achievements included restructuring the department where I implemented new positions and developed job descriptions, hired dozens of individuals for a quickly growing company and worked on the development and database migration of a new software system. I had a hand in most client relationships as I worked on resolving issues and escalations while maintaining our clients' trust and confidence in our abilities as a company.

I helped run the store during the retail and shipping's busiest time: the holiday season. I learned conflict management and customer service skills by helping ensure packages were delivered by Christmas. Through creativity and problem solving I was able to diffuse sometimes tense situations.

Store Operator

I monitored and archived any type of news coverage for our clients and conducted market research in looking at various platforms for company visibility. Also scoring a taste for event planning, I helped out with the planning and organizing of the grand opening of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids. Additionally, I was designated leadership responsibilities as street team lead for one of their larger clients', McDonald's, "Grab Your Greens" and "McCafe" programs. This led me all over the state of Michigan in a McDonald's wrapped Pontiac promoting the healthier menu items for the fast food juggernaut.

Temporary Project Assistant

During events I would keep statistics, write recaps, distribute game notes and even got an opportunity to broadcast a couple of softball games. In between I would interview various athletes and coaches for 700-1000 word feature stories that would show up in various Calvin College publications such as the alumni magazine, bi-annual sports periodical and game day programs. I was able to improve my writing and storytelling through this experience and was given a lot of trust and freedom from Jeff Febus, the sports information coordinator.

Sports Information Assistant

The Rampage had a fairly small staff which meant I was given a broad range of tasks. I worked on and honed my editorial skills while editing press releases, recaps, programs, online content and other forms of team publications. The community relations side of the internship included the handling of donation requests and you also would have found me alongside the mascot and players during different scheduled appearances ranging from school visits, volunteering events and parades.

Media and Community Relations Intern

I interned during the off season through a semester internship program in downtown Chicago. Some of my key responsibilities included having to update and maintain the Chicago Sky website and work on various website projects where I learned to write basic code. As marketing intern I also got to write promotional materials for team merchandise, ticket sales and basketball clinics. Assisting in the analyzing of game day promotions from the previous season to start planning for the following season's giveaways and promotions was good marketing 101.
