Professional and energetic self starter looking to make a mark in the Outdoor/Action Sports realm. I've worked in several key fields over the past fifteen years, ranging from customer service with Disney and Oakley, to being a sales rep with The Home Depot, to being an emergency medical technician on an ambulance, and currently as a seasonal wildland firefighter with the US Forest Service. I've had a passion for the outdoors since I was a kid, as well as action sports of almost every kind and I'm ready for an opportunity to show the right company what I have to offer.

Seasonal Wildland Firefighter. Utilized suppression tactics and participated in active fire suppression, performing hoselays (both progressive and simple) during initial attack and while assigned to larger incidents. Searched out fire/hot spots and extinguished them by moving/scraping dirt, applying water, breaking up roots, felling small trees, and removing brush. Used look up, look down, look around principles and LCES. Participated in mop up operations, along with cold trailing until all burning materials were fully suppressed and cold. Skillfully used tools such as: pulaski, bent shovel, combi tool, mcloud, and chainsaw, while constructing fireline as part of a crew. Operated portable pumps to supply critical water to Water Tenders on fire incidents, when Engines needed to be refilled, in order to continue fire suppression and mop up. Observed fire weather, along with any potential weather hazards and reported them to my Engine Captain. Tasked with spinning the weather on fires to ensure that all working personnel and overhead were up to date on current weather. Ensured the 10’s and 18’s were known and followed. Used and demonstrated proficiency while operating multi channel, multi frequency radios. Assisted Fire Prevention/Fire Patrol, issuing campfire permits during burn restrictions and educating the public. Performed project work/chipping projects as a member of a crew, conducting critical reduction of fuels.

Forestry Technician (Fire)

During my time in contractor sales, I developed my own client base and customer network. I experienced rapid sales growth and before I left the company had generated over seven hundred thousand dollars in sales revenue in under eight months time. 

As a Pro Account Sales Associate, my primary focus was finding new contractor and commercial business in order to increase overall revenue. Throughout the day I prospected for new leads both inside the store and outside the store, I operated as an inside sales rep, provided customer service, worked as a cashier, and served as a jack of all trades for
other departments. On a day to day basis, I utilized an internal computer system, as well as Microsoft Office applications and other design software. As a PASA, I needed to be familiar with the entire store, especially hand and power tools, so that I could best serve my customers. Every day was something new and different, which created opportunities to tackle obstacles and work as a team to overcome any challenges that may have arised. Working at the pro desk meant having a background of practical hands on experience.

Contractor Sales / Door and Window Sales Specialist

As an EMT, I provided basic life support for both emergency and non-emergency calls. My job consisted of medical aids, inter-facility transport, hospital discharges, and occasionally transporting dialysis and hospice patients. An example of my job duties consisted of, but was not limited to: bandaging, splinting, providing 02, obtaining vitals signs, filling out patient care reports and other paperwork for documentation/billing, operating the gurney, driving the ambulance, restocking supplies, checking equipment for operational readiness, overall patient assessment, and patient care. I also worked as a Field Training Officer, where I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of training new EMT’s who were brand new to the field and had just recently obtained their license/certification. Being able to
show new EMT’s how to apply all of the things they learned in school, out in the real world was definitely the highlight of my time spent in the medical field. I covered everything with them, such as how to check the ambulance out for operational readiness in the morning, how to drive and operate the vehicle safely in all driving conditions, how to safely operate the vehicle in an emergency (while under stress), operating the vehicle with lights and sirens, and how to provide the absolute best patient care while attending in the back of the ambulance. Overall being an EMT/FTO was an incredible experience, that taught me a lot about myself and what I’m capable of. Understanding how my mind and body will operate during an emergency and knowing that I can stay calm in the midst of chaos, has proven to me that I can thrive in any working environment.

My time as an EMT with MedCoast afforded me the opportunity to fine tune my craft in the field and really hone my skills. I worked primarily 24 hour shifts during my time with MedCoast and that taught me how to cope with being away from home for long periods of time and how to continue to work safely even when fatigue sets in.
