Brand Manager / Marketing Director

BRAND MANAGER / MARKETING STRATEGIST with direct work experience in content creation and project management. Proficient at analyzing existing strategies for effectiveness, developing alternative approaches to address gaps and managing the translation of vision from ideation through implementation. Work directly with Executive Management of a wholesale young women’s apparel company in the creation of strategic marketing plans including the development and on-going supervision of company’s e-commerce store. Provide operational leadership to ensure that deadlines and deliverables are met according to schedule. 
Duties include:
•	Supervise and manage the execution of company’s digital and traditional marketing plan/calendar.
•	Communicate with buyers to ensure accurate and correct garment information. Work with overseas manufacturing team to keep track of and follow-up on production P.P. and T.O.P. samples to maintain production schedules and on-time shipment of purchase orders.
•	Develop and supervise company’s digital, traditional and social brand strategies to increase brand value 
•	Curate and take creative lead on the development of new Plus Size product category. Contribute new ideas/concepts and submit detailed specs to overseas pattern makers and manufacturing team.
•	Maintain daily contact and interaction with sales team. Keep updated knowledge of each Rep’s status and provide assistance when needed to secure completion of pending sales.
•	Oversee the creation and development of marketing collateral, email and digital assets.
•	Communicate issues, market challenges, opportunities and threats to Executive Management.
•	Initiate new business development. Conceptualize and co-collaborate with graphic designer on the creation new sales collateral including weekly line sheets.
•	Formulate company’s trade show strategy and logistical execution.

Served as the “voice” of a leading New York Times best-selling author’s health/wellness brand with a subscription model. Managed digital properties promoting integrative healthcare clinics, coaching, books, supplements and books. Responsibilities included:
•	Developed and managed editorial calendar to deliver a high volume of assets that are mapped to brand growth objectives.
•	Established scope of projects and digital promotions, identifying technical and content needs. Examined and recommended changes to current business practices.
•	Built and executed a content strategy that supported and extended marketing initiatives to drive awareness and increased community engagement.
•	Fine-tuned and evolved editorial tone and voice of all content. 
•	Managed content management cycle of website articles, social media, weekly newsletter and other digital properties/projects to drive short-term/long-term brand objectives and add reader value and engagement.
•	Hired and managed necessary personnel including 2-5 freelance writers and recipe developers, based on site and social-media needs.
•	Served as the liaison between web-development and management teams. Assisted web-development team by creating necessary content. Helped implement and tested new design features.
•	Collaborated closely with marketing team to deliver compelling, scalable, and impactful content for offline/online synergistic promotions and other email based reader correspondence.

Marketing Manager (Contract)

Worked as an independent contractor retained by clients representing a broad spectrum including a daytime TV personality, a chef/cookbook author, a financial services company, a celebrity hairstylist, among others.  Responsibilities included: 
•	Served as lead writer and Creative Director on all marketing collateral (i.e., press kit content, website copy, brochures, presentations, proposals, advertisements, trade show and promotional event displays). 
•	Led the development of brand messaging and positioning to differentiate client and/or product in the marketplace for both B2B and B2C audiences.  
•	Owned and project managed all marketing campaigns including building promotions, creating concepts, copywriting, providing design direction to graphic designer, reviewing proofs and managing printing by soliciting vendor quotes and serving as point-of-contact on distribution of all materials. 
 
•	Managed social media presence. Wrote/edited content and managed conversations in multiple networks.  Also conceptualized, implemented and managed giveaways and/or contests.
•	Ensured the accuracy, quality and consistency of all internal and external messaging.
•	Conducted research, analyzed and interpreted industry trends and competitive information and developed strategies/tactics to respond to opportunities and changes in the marketplace.
•	Served as brand evangelist. Used influencing/PR skills and relationships to obtain media coverage.  Also communicate aspects of brand to clients, potential stakeholders, vendors etc. 
•	Hired and supervised contract creative services personnel to assist with the development and design of brand marketing assets.  
•	Cultivated and managed new and existing relationships with potential partners, clients, trade organizations and other affiliates.  
•	Negotiated business terms, drafted agreements and worked with legal counsel to finalize contracts. Communicated key contractual terms to all internal stakeholders and ensure compliance.
