I am writing to express my interest in a position with your company. I am confident that my diverse work experience, along with my drive and enthusiasm, will enable me to make a significant contribution to your organization. During my tenure as a Bookkeeper, I have had the unique opportunity to read hundreds of cover letters and resumes. As you probably know, the redundancy of content is endless. Most applicants follow the same format: Buzzwords about how motivated and professional they are, and maybe an “inspirational” quote or two. While this may be the norm, let me assure you that my work experiences separate and distinguish me from the average individual. I have built scaffold and rigging on the tallest skyscrapers in Chicago, dragged boats out of Lake Michigan by hand, worked hand-in-hand with municipal governments (if you’re familiar with Chicago politics, you understand how complex this becomes), and managed invoicing for the most impetuous sales team ever to sell ice to Eskimos. Couple that with growing up working for my family’s motorcycle dealership in every capacity from floor scrubber to sales manager, and I am certain I am ready for any challenge set before me. I am seeking a career that is not only fulfilling and rewarding on the personal level, but will ultimately allow me to pursue one of my life’s greatest passions: making a positive difference in the lives of others. I feel that I can bring an unparalleled level of dedication and experience to your organization, and I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to further discuss my qualifications, as well as the positive influence I bring to the table.
