International Meeting & Tradeshow Manager

Accomplished and dynamic professional with solid and diverse experience in handling all aspects of event planning, execution and management. Eager to secure event management position, with a desire to play an integral part in the operation and success of an organization. Provide strategic direction and leadership to the management and execution of meetings, trade shows, conventions, conferences and event programs for five business units. Serve as member of the Board of Event/Meeting Planning professionals for UnitedHealth Group.

•	Strong negotiation skills - develop and oversee budgets of $6 million+  per year overall meetings / events and $1.8 million annual tradeshow.  (350 – 400 events &  tradeshows per year)
•	Strategically lead  new branding, optional messaging and complete kitted booth program from Tier 3-small to tier 1  largest sized tradeshows.
•	Interact with all levels (internal/external)  around the world to initiate the planning of events. ie. Executive meetings, focus groups, usergroups, client events, receptions, advisory board meetings, forums, tradeshows.
•	Manage large corporate Optum Executive and Client Forum,  in addition to the largest corporate  Himss tradeshow.– resulting in $45 million in pipeline and $70 million influenced.
•	Works with the response management and sales teams to gather and follow up with event leads and demonstrate ROI. Found & designed Zuant to drive strategy and execution for each event to increase ROI, build the brand & reduce costs.
•	Manage / purchased Optum’s 7200sf booth: Work cross-functionally to oversee management and collaboration of the creative design, material selection and approvals, cost strategy, selling approach and tactical support enabling Optum to deliver, on time and within budget, an experience that captured Optum’s brand and met overall marketing goals.
•	Leader in Social Responsibility efforts at numerous events as part of Optum’s presence – striving to give back to the community.
•	Introduce an internal microsite to communicate all aspects of participation and internal registration for larger events.
•	Proactively build effective, strategic working relationships with stakeholders to promote and provide the best possible event.
•	Negotiates with external vendors to ensure that product or service is contracted at the best cost.  Ie.  Generate RFIs and RFPs for new technology initiatives are met.
•	Leverages event planning process for all associated aspects of the event including exhibit, shipping, staffing, 	presentations, registrations, sponsorships, leads, collateral, giveaways, receptions, client meetings.
•	Develops and implements the standard event guidelines, calendar, plans, timeline and handbook to be utilized in 	conjunction with each event's marketing and sales efforts.
•	Manage outside vendor / partners to optimize exhibit inventory and streamline processes.
•	Travel 30% of the time.

Planned and coordinated international and national events, client seminars, internal retreats, education / product training events and road shows. Collaborated with hotel/venue departments to select and manage food and beverage, address A.V requirements, perform billing and complete program needs. Coordinated monthly client education sessions  including registrations and technical support. Provided progress reports to internal clients and vendors based on scheduled timelines. Traveled on program operations as the meeting planner and managed on-site event staff.

•	Manager of inside sales team of 4 and 1 education coordinator
•	Lead and develop team members by supporting individual growth plans, creating an employee training program and standardizing client approaches via templated tools to bring consistency to our clients.
•	Corporate website design, development and maintenance to solicit e-commerce business.
•	Create policies and procedures for sales team and vendors to assist them in meeting target sales goal(s).
•	Create unique marketing programs that include: media package, store contests, advertising and promotion.
•	Media buying from newspaper / magazine / television / radio / theater / direct mail and billboard.
•	Authorize and negotiate media buys in assigned sales territory.
•	Oversee sales and marketing department's staffing, training, & education.
