Graphic Designer

My work experience in the marketing field spans over 35 years. I am currently working as a Graphic Designer producing catalogs, marketing advertisements, packaging and product development for a car audio manufacturer in Oxnard, CA.

My work experience has been a key creative resource providing project management, art direction, graphic design and production, web design and custom illustration. The services I offer encompass many areas in both print and electronic mediums.

AVA Enterprises is a worldwide manufacturer of car audio systems. My responsibilities as a graphic designer are to provide creative support to all phases of the companies marketing efforts.

As a part of a small creative team, I work to produce the three major product catalogs annually, numerous magazine and trade publication advertisements, sales flyer's, trade show/event display graphics, product packaging and support material, product interface graphics and website design and updates.

Other responsibilities include working directly with product development and engineering departments to design, create and develop specific varieties of the product line.

Third Degree Graphics was a small design firm contracted to the Scripps-Howard family of newspapers and catered to their variety of advertising material.

My responsibilities were to design and develop both print and on-line advertisements. In a fast paced environment, I worked directly with the various newspaper creative departments to develop Flash banner ads, splash and landing pages and print ads in one to four-color applications.

Deliverables include other special client requests such as website design and development, menus, brochures, banners and posters.

Freelance graphic designer and illustrator. I specialized in design and production of four-color projects including: catalogs, direct mail, corporate branding, logo design, annual reports, trade publication advertisements and collateral. In addition, I designed and developed brochures, point of purchase displays and trade show/event display graphics.

I have designed and developed many promotional campaigns, program invitations, newsletters and support material. For some clients, I developed websites and website graphics, Flash animation and user interface graphics for web implementation. I have developed application graphics such as splash screens, desktop icons, and navigation graphics. I work with and coordinate outside vendors such as photographers, printers and mail houses.

As an illustrator, I specialize in technical illustration providing customers with instruction illustrations and diagrams for use in manuals and marketing material. I work in a variety of mediums, and I am versatile in styles and technique.

Tonkin, Inc. was a licensed merchandise promotions business. While at Tonkin, I managed a group of four designers in the Creative Department. The creative team provided graphic support in all phases of Tonkin’s trademark licensed merchandise.

I provided design and production of four-color product catalogs and promotional items. I provided photography direction, image manipulation, pre-press direction and press checks.

In addition, I provided creative support for all licensed merchandise including design and production of items ranging from: jackets, T-shirts, hats, mugs and other associated promotional giveaways.
