Markus Kittner has been a footwear designer since 2001 in Europe and North America. An independent and abstract thinker, Markus combines a sensibility for footwear performance technology and fashion. Working to a holistic Design philosophy that also includes other fundamental design deliverables such as culture, education and environmental compatibility. With an strong interest in strategy and product vision, focusing also on Briefs & Line plan development with Product Line Manager and Upper Management; Markus delivers progressive solutions that add value to products and brands. Also meeting deadlines and price points, in fast-paced environments. His International design experience includes exclusive brands such as: Ferrari and Ducati footwear through Fila in Italy. North American brands include Puma, Nautica, Pony and Nike where he was the lead designer in the mens golf footwear design division. European brands include Bata, Stuburt and DUCA DEL COSMA. With a Master of Design degree Markus is also fluent in English, Italian, French, and speaks Spanish and German. Client work is balanced with Social Design projects, including work for charitable organizations such as Soul of Africa and personal projects such as Huarache Blog which is dedicated to promoting the traditional Mexican Craft of Huarache Footwear.
