Sr. Director of Merchandising and Brand Development

-Created trend-right Hello Kitty girls performance activewear line for L.A. based manufacturing company for USA Mid-tier and Asia retail distribution. -Supervised procurement of import Hello Kitty samples,Sanrio licensor approvals and production management. 
-Developed additional market strategies combining Hello Kitty activewear apparel and sporting goods for endcap program opportunities within Target and sporting goods retailers (Sports Authority, Big 5) 
-Establish retail and manufacturing partnerships to develop cross functional merchandising, sourcing, and sales organizations on a freelance project by project basis.


 

-Import Liaison between our Asia factories and USA branded customers to insure their required style/fabric, sampling, and pricing initiatives were achieved
-Interface with design and production teams to meet all approval /shipping deadlines
-Oversee quality control and insure all vendor compliances were met
-Initiated development of direct-to-retail accounts (Dollar General, Wet Seal, Tilly's) with creation of product assortments within their category needs.

Sr. Director of Merchandising / Production

-Developed import production guidelines for $20M branded junior apparel manufacturer 
-Set up production tracking and WIP system for all private label accounts (Wet Seal, Rue21, Vanity, TJMaxx) to insure on time deliveries
-Improved garment quality and fit processes for better efficiency and approvals
-Established direct-to-retail business for start-up import manufacturing company; generating $2.8M within first year (Maurices, Charming Shoppes, Destination Maternity)
-Developed sample room operation to complete sample lines, fit samples, patterns and import tech packs

Consultant Apparel Merchandising/Production

-Strategic development of all design and merchandising of Girls apparel licenses (Hello Kitty, Disney, Hilary Duff, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Peanuts, and more)
-Successful execution of exclusive launches of girls Hilary Duff brand to Target stores and Hannah Montana brand to Walmart stores. 
-Planned and coordinated all Walmart merchandise presentations, art/cad booklets, and sample procurement 
-Developed style/product differentiation for all licensed categories based on planned retail channel distribution
-Implemented product assortments for Hello Kitty "shop concept" set up for Macy's Herald Square and ultimate store roll out.

Director of Brand Development

-Responsible for managing $30M T-shirt business in men's, kids, and women's
-Created a quick turn t-shirt program in conjunction with Hanes and LA screen printer to add $1.0M profit 
-Expanded men's large size assortment and accomplished 15-20% comp store growth yearly
-Introduced "added value" fashion t-shirt classification to include specialty washes and embellishments
-Successfully implemented a new Big Dog concept store within Universal Studios Theme Park
