Technical Analysis and Communications

I consider myself  a Technology Analysis and Communications professional. My extensive background in the consumer electronics industry includes product development, testing, competitor analysis, reporting, and development of technical white papers. In addition to my technical roles, I have been recruited for and successful in public relations, customer service, project management, sales, and teaching positions.

My passion for technology started during my photography career.  I was lucky to be there through the transition of Analog to Digital Photography.  Working with film cameras, retouching images through dark room manipulation, touch up dyes and paint brushes, to using digital cameras and processing images through Photoshop has been an amazing experience. During this transition I learned to embrace new technologies, and gained a deep desire to understand how they function.

Based on my photography, I was recruited by PC World Magazine. It was extremely exciting to work for a magazine that gave me access to new consumer electronics and cutting edge technologies.  I was drawn to technology, whether it was being introduced to new devices from vendors, discussing new technologies with colleagues, or attending CES.  

After working at PC World my career took a different path more focused on public relations, customer service, project management, sales, and teaching positions.

Eventually, at Samsung I combined my skills in photography, public relations, project management, and love for technology in my position as a QA Manger. My role at Samsung included product development, testing, competitor analysis and public relations with a focus on product reviewer support.  I was excited to work with the latest technologies, and share that information with like-minded people.  

I am an avid motorcycle rider, with some experience racing Sport Bikes. During my free time I can be found on long distance adventure rides or rebuilding salvaged motorcycles in my basement.

• Closely coordinate with and support media reviewers of consumer electronic products to ensure that they are provided with the best user experience.

• Conduct thorough quality testing on preproduction and production Consumer Electronics, with primary focus on guaranteeing maximum performance and preventing product malfunctions and issues.

• Remain up-to-date on the latest trends in consumer electronics through continuous research and review of new digital cameras and camcorders, smartphone cameras, tablets, displays, and home automation products to compare and determine needed modifications on the company’s product.

• Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to the product development team, which outline latest consumer electronic trends, product feedbacks, and recommendations on improvements and features for future products.

• Ensure accuracy in composing comprehensive reports and documents for product reviewers, which contain easy-to-understand explanations of technical data.

• Perform thorough review and editing of product user manuals to ensure alignment with actual user experience.

QA Manager

• Researched and wrote technical white papers describing a wide range of consumer and B2B products.

• Reviewed and edited product user manuals and on-line help systems to guarantee clear and concise technical explanations and excellent user experience.

• Generated and authored numerous technical documents, which included design documents, system requirements, technical specifications, database reports, and standard operating procedures.

Technical Consultant and Writer

• Plan lessons with linguistic/cultural cohesion, thorough comprehension questions, & communicative opportunities.

• Teach highly interactive, student-centered, and objective-driven lesson through visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile strategies

• Provide individual support to struggling students in the completion of writing assignments to ensure comprehension and encourage class participation

• Analyze student achievement and progress data to develop strategies for future instruction.

English Teacher

• Delivered performance focused direction in the management of construction renovation projects including reviewed designs, floor plans, schedules & budgets.

• Prepared bid packages, scope of works and level bids for contractors and consultants on assigned projects.

• Guided projects through various city approval processes for building, and parking permits.

• Led construction meetings, and ensured customers were kept current of ongoing project
activities.

• Vetted, selected, and managed vendors, and ensured the timely completion of punch list items.

Project Manager

• Efficiently provided oversight to product photography, which encompassed art direction, lighting, set installation, and editing of high-quality image for print and web use.

• Applied a wide range of techniques in image processing that included blemish retouching, color manipulation, and still image modification for graphically enhanced page layouts.

• Maintained hands-on engagement in all facets of digital video production, from art and camera talent direction to lighting management, sound quality checking, equipment setup, video and audio editing.

• Keenly managed the photo studio and assistant photographers.

• Closely collaborated with the editorial staff to provide technical data and explanations to educate them in new camera technologies during presentation of newly released cameras.
