Product Development Specialist

More than 8 years experience in Apparel Product Development.

•	Manage Product development from inception to production ready stage
•	Own/facilitate Details Meetings with all cross functional teams
•	Review with manager in compiling initial costing for all styles in development, updating cost sheets throughout season
•	Coordinate salesman samples ordering and manage sample coordinators
•	Assist throughout development ensuring product details meets aesthetic direction as well as bulk production criteria
•	Communicate development information to manufacturing sources overseas and domestically
•	Understand product calendar and guide cross functional team to stay on course
•	Work with production/development assistant for color approval needs


•	Manages the overall development process by making sure all aspects of styles are on calendar time to receive samples when needed and ready to go into production to hit delivery dates
•	Work with design team for comments and approvals on all fabrics, trims and prints and convey status of overall development
•	Handles all communication with liaison offices/vendors, following up with all communication on a daily basis
•	Collaborates with fabric and trim vendors to source and develop necessary fabrics and trims; to include research on new concepts
•	Ensures products are engineered to cost standards and negotiates cost through order placement in line with margin expectations
•	Coordinates and monitors proto samples for fit, quality, execution & construction;  coordinates the proto review
•	Lead weekly meetings with design, merchandising and tech team to discuss progress and any issues
•	Proficient in ACS

Product Developer

•	Coordinates the product creation process from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned models to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals
•	Create initial tech pack  and communicate all fit, quality and construction comments and issues to import and domestic vendors
•	Tracks and facilitates sampling and prototyping for products; identifies and addresses key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plans accordingly to deliver proven and tested product.
•	Maintain seasonally accurate tech pack documents for every product in the line and seasonal costing
•	Collaborate with QC/Audit/Sourcing department in reviewing and resolving production quality issues
•	Proficient in PolyPM

Product Development Coordinator

•	Responsible for all bill of materials, cost sheets and specifications and purchase orders
•	Assist Senior Designer in creating and formulating original design concepts every season
•	Collaborate with the Production Department in creating the production calendar
•	In charge of press release kits that are sent out to magazines and TV shows
•	Knowledge of textiles, composition, testing, garment construction and patterns
•	Computer proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, PDM, Illustrator and Photoshop
