Product Developer

Background experience in the apparel/fashion product development process and supporting all design aspects. Able to excel and establish a consistent work ethic in the rapidly growing fashion industry. Highly driven multi-tasker and motivated to achieve high levels of efficiency and insuring set development deadlines are met.


•	Each season, evaluates the viability of new line plans and communicates potential challenges and concerns; helps manage calendar expectations to effectively execute all styles assigned.
•	Adheres to seasonal development calendars to ensure on-time delivery of all samples and completion of development tasks prior to production.
•	Coordinates with cross functional team members to plan and execute seasonal goals.
•	Ensures accurate creation of proto sample TDPs and product specifications based on Design direction and target requirements outlined by product briefs and/or line list.  
•	Manages creation, accurate storage, timely revisions, and communication of BOMs, TDPs, and other critical product information in PLM system (and other shared documents) to ensure appropriate information is maintained and shared both internally (among Sunday Afternoons team) and externally (with manufacturing and distribution partners).
•	Ensures all prototypes are measured and reviewed for color, construction, material, and other relevant details prior to fit sessions.
•	Leads sample review and fit sessions; details all corrections as directed for prototypes and sales samples.  
•	Collaborates with internal patternmaker and external manufacturing partners to establish appropriate spec measurements based on fit direction and size range provided by Design.
•	Requests and reviews sample runs, pre-production samples, and top of production runs as necessary; comments in a timely manner.
•	Manages graphic developments (embroideries, screen prints, heat transfers, etc.), along with associated costing and other details as necessary.
•	Manages development of customer and/or legally required labels, hangtags, and stickers.  
•	Follows FOB targets to maintain projected profit margins for each season. 
•	Accurately tracks status of each style at each key development stage with all manufacturing partners; manages changes and updates information as necessary in a timely manner.
•	Reviews inspection reports from QA team and/or factories and addresses/resolves any quality issues in a timely manner.
•	Travels domestically and/or internationally to assist in areas of sourcing, development, and vendor management.
•	Performs other duties as assigned.

• Daily communication with domestic and overseas vendors to ensure calendar dates are met.
• Work closely with design to ensure Tech Pack deadlines are met and Overviews and Tech Packs are kept up to date as needed.
• Assist with the review and management of the seasonal Development Calendar to identify any issues with key deadlines.
• Manage the Development WIP process including creation of the seasonal WIPs, ensuring all vendors are posting completed and updated WIPs on a weekly basis, reviewing the WIP data to ensure its complete and accurate and following up on status as needed.
• Facilitate and monitor all 1st protos, photo samples, and sales samples EFDs. Monitor and track status of all protos and photo samples.
• Manage Line List data applicable to the Product Manager and update accordingly. Communicate Line List data updates with the Operations team.
• Coordinate required fittings with the Technical Designer
• Work closely with Merchandising/Development team to establish and update SMS process as needed.
• Manage the entire SMS process including creation of the Sales Sample Order Breakdown, SMS Order Forms and SMS SKUs.
• Work closely with Sales team to obtain salesmen sample order quantity per region and communicate/manage updates as needed.
• Facilitate  and monitor sample request from sales, design and marketing departments.
• Assist with the creation of seasonal catalogs including communication of photo sample status with Art Director/Photographer, maintaining the Photoshop list and catalog proofing for accuracy of part names, sku #’s, product info and images.

Product Manager

• Partnering with Design and Tech for     production handoff—establishing quality standards, fabric weights, trim finishes, and factory placement, artwork, and color standards
• Providing factory and/or raw material suppliers with quality standards, color standards, trim standards, and artwork
• Requesting approved production quality fit yardage and novelty trims from factory or raw material supplier and passing to sample room as needed
• Facilitating approval process between Design, Tech, Garment Manufacturers, Raw Material Suppliers, and the Customer. Including quality standards, lab dips, strike-offs, etc.
• Maintaining fabrics from each delivery for current styles and for future reference
• Keeping approvals and rejections for each style organized for easy reference.
• Creating trim cards in PLM for each style once orders are issued, and updating as needed
• Ensuring that BOMs are accurate in PLM and updating as needed

• Maintain development and production of printables, cut & sew, and accessories managing all timelines, costing and daily factory communication with domestic and overseas’ vendors.
• Check, organize, maintain and update tech pack details as needed before sending to vendors.
• Follow up on lab-dips, proto, PP and TOP approvals with vendors.
• Check sample measurements and sewing construction.
• Review sample issues with Designer, Sales and Production Manager.
• Organize samples by season on racks and shelves and maintain sample log.
• Check domestic / printable production schedules, order blanks, check blanks tee color availability.
• Issue production PO’s for domestic and import orders.
• Follow up on production schedules and report late deliveries.
• Update Apparel Magic (AM) on revised delivery dates, add style information, update inventory, retrieve UPC’s to send to vendors, generate / maintain BOM’s on AM.
• Help generate / maintain line-sheets as needed with Design and Production.

Coordinator, Development & Production

• SMU Product Development of Printables, Cut & Sew, and Accessories managing all development and production timelines, costing and factory communication.
• Set up and maintain style master information per project: style names/numbers, color codes, costing, deliveries, and wholesales/retails.
• Audit all tech packs with design before sending to vendors/factories.
• Manage proto comments, fittings, and measurements with design.
• Manage development tracker all the way through production delivery, daily communication with vendors/factories for product development and costing, and communicate directly with vendors/factories on fabrics, prints, silhouettes etc.
• Manage relationship with licensing partners and submission of development through PLM systems.
• Fostering good working relationships with Sales and Production departments to keep the flow of information and ideas open.
• Assist inline team with development needs if necessary.


SMU Product Developer

Assist Art Director, VP of Design & Merchandising and Senior Designers the day-to-tasks, including but not limited to: WIP reports, product development, and presentations. Submit sample requests through WebTech PLM as needed and follow up with warehouse on completion dates.
Assist Account Managers with urgent projects, same day production needs and same day requests from buyers. Coordinate and follow up with graphic/CAD artists on new concepts/updated art to create WIP reports to send. Manage and update new art by month—setting up project folders, archiving and cleaning out monthly folders. Photograph, record, and count quantities of incoming samples/strike offs/prototypes from factories/print vendors. Track and maintain new materials by creating or updating swatch book. Photograph and ship/receive sample sets that are sent out to sale reps. Track all samples going out or coming in for meetings or trade shows. Maintain and organize all lines by season.

Design Project Coordinator

Waterman’s Ball includes both a silent and live auction, as well as a time of recognition to the 2016 Waterman’s Weekend honorees – individuals who have made a lasting impact on the surf industry and are dedicated to protecting our ocean environment. All funds raised during the Waterman’s Ball are given to the SIMA Environmental Fund beneficiaries – ocean-related environmental organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving our oceans.

Volunteer

Coordinate sample review and fit model meetings, check in/out photo shoot samples, prepare and send out all cut pieces for domestic and Asia printing, review/check garment construction and fabrics/trims/components sent from vendors for approvals and responsible for tracking and maintaining all prototype organization. Prepare all incoming/outgoing shipment of sourcing requests or samples to/from Asia and input data sent or received on Sourcing Tracking log. Maintain files of all approved and unapproved sourcing including but not limited to: components, fabrics, trims, etc. Communicate with all vendors on reviews of sourcing and art strikes. Order fabrics, trims or components needed from approved vendors or Supply Chain Manager using ABS system. Prepare and ship all sales samples as requested from sales department. Prepare line for trade shows and customer meetings. Manage license product communication, submittals and approvals with development team & licensor. Domestic travel included.
