For the previous 5 years I have been working as print designer within the fashion and active sportswear
industry, both in-house and freelance, for a wide range of European and International labels. I specialise
in placement graphics and repeat prints for all areas of ladieswear, menswear and childrenswear, with
experience in trend-forecasting, research, storyboards, branding, applique and embroidery designs, CADs
and point of sale.
Although primarily a print and graphic designer, my background is in illustration. I studied BA (Hons)
Illustration at University College Falmouth where I specialised in fashion illustration and print design. My
strengths lie in my handwriting, and being able to successfully translate drawing skills into image making
for garments and textiles. I am also fully competent with all the latest Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop,
Illustrator, In Design etc.)
I have a long family history in the textile industry. My mother is a textile artist and I learnt how to sew,
pattern cut and construct garments at an early age, and I still enjoy doing to this day. I like to work
across mediums when designing graphics and prints for fashion, and to explore the potential aesthetics
of combining textiles with printmaking, photography, painting, drawing and other mediums. Related
courses that I have completed include How to Set Up and Run Your Own Fashion Business at London
College Fashion, London, and Swimwear design and Pattern Cutting at Central Saint Martins, London.
