Assistant Director - David J. Prior Convocation Center

I am a hardworking man with a multitude of skills, goals and dreams.  Most of all, I am a follower of Christ with a "servant first" attitude.  My official title in my current position is Assistant Director of the David J. Prior Convocation Center in Wise, Virginia.  What I do is far beyond the scope of what the title describes and i'm always working to ensure all my duties are completed to perfection.  I am a videographer, graphic designer, advertising and marketing manager, event planner, and facility manager.  I am always looking to better myself and my family, in hopes to find a career and not just a job that allows a balance between work and family.  I strive to begin each day with enthusiasm and determination to accomplish every task I face along my path.  


•	Plan and oversee day to day operations at the Convocation Center
•	Develop marketing plans for future success
•	Operate PA system for athletic events
•	Responsibilities include upkeep of center
•	Plan and organize all events
•	Operations during the events
•	Assist the Director of Operations
•	Marketing and advertising of all events in the center
•	Design and produce graphic design for advertising events 
•	Updating and organization of all social media outlets
•	Website management 
•	Supervisor to seven student workers 
•	Video/editing/audio for all athletic events in center


•	Develop annual marketing plan for Esserville Church to reach non-believers
•	Design graphics and logos for advertising of different events
•	Run live video feed for church services
•	Oversee logistics of apparel and generate promotional items and gifts


Assistant Marketing Director

•	Coordinate and manage three camera video production team
•	Create video timeline for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and lacrosse
•	Create and edit commercial content for live video production
•	Edit introductions and closing titles for replays on local television network
•	Operate Nexus video system for television programming


Director of Videography 

     Responsible for--
•	Radio Broadcasts & PA announcements for all athletic events
•	Updating Sidearm athletics web page for the college
•       Setting up and breaking down of radio equipment
•	Assisting with creation of media guides for all sports
•	Creating flip cards and game notes for each sport
•	Stat Crew entry of football, baseball, and softball statistics
•	Writing breaking news and important stories in Athletics
•	Uploading and captioning pictures for website 
•	Pre-Game interviews with coaches
•	Uploading schedules to web site
•	Live video feeds and editing
•	Marketing and social media for athletic events

Assistant Sports Information Director

•	Conduct interviews of players and coaches 
•	Write sports articles for newspaper publication



Sports Writer

•	Write, produce and host The 7th Inning Stretch
•	Operate sound boards during “Sports Talk with Nic and Mark”
•	Co-host “Sports Talk with Nic and Mark”
•	Assist in production of commercials during show
•	Run boards for UVA-Wise Baseball
•	Host play-by-play and color commentary for UVA-Wise Basketball and Baseball
•	Responsible for daily music theme and “home run of the day” operations
•	Schedule contests and promotions for on-air operations
•	Interview guests live on-air
•	Answers phones, prepare callers and guests for on-air communications


Radioshow Host

•	Responsible for play by play broadcast of local high school basketball
•	Setup of remote broadcasting equipment for live play-by-play 

Sports Broadcaster

•	Responsible for updating Jobs@ website, displays job openings for UVA-Wise
•	Assisted in the interview process for each candidate 
•	Updated yearly employee handbook 
•	Created PowerPoint presentations for new employees online, Lead@System 
•	Assisted the benefits coordinator in benefit meetings with new employees.
•	Updated job descriptions for upcoming available jobs online and through local      and collegiate newspapers. 
•	Distributed time cards through emails; entered and received time cards into the payment system.
•	Distributed, collected, and counted ballots for voting of new department chairs.
