The floor sales position gave me skills in money handling, customer service, stocktake, POS use, and up selling. I had to learn about all the different instruments and parts/ accessories to accompany them. Then I had to be able to differentiate customers level of interest to give them the correct choice in product. Online sales enabled me to understand shipping and tracking info for the first time. It gave me haggling skills with older products we were trying to just get out the door. Running Social Media is second nature for my generation so running a Facebook and Instagram was not a challenge.

For context this store is the Australian equivalent of Home Depot. As a Full Time Team Member, I had to delegate tasks to casual members within my section. It enabled me to learn effective Time Management within a team and autonomously. I was given in house customer service and safety training. I learned about the Electronic Transfer Of Goods (ETOS) from franchise to franchise. I became accustom to heavy manual labor and large amounts of time spent on my feet. I am versed in unscheduled shifts or varying time tables. There were 2 POS systems within the company, register and handheld. Enabling me to make sales straight on the floor.
